Speaking with Variety about getting back behind the counter for the long-awaited sequel Good Burger 2, Thompson says he and Mitchell will “one million percent” continue working together after the delicious follow-up to 1997’s Good Burger.

“It would be only right for us to continue to go explore what Kenan and Kel could have been when we were in our 20s when we left Nickelodeon and decided to try to figure it out, instead of just automatically doing the Abbott and Costello thing,” Thompson says. “Now that we’re older and sharper and wiser and this that and the other,...

Good Burger 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot And More Info
Image
"Good Burger" is a rather unlikely success story of '90s kids' entertainment. Back in the '90s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show titled "All That," which was essentially the kids' version of "Saturday Night Live." It ran absurd sketches and launched the careers of many actors like Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Katrina Johnson, Jack DeSena, Kel Mitchell, and Kenan Thompson — who would go on to become the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member ever.

And just like "SNL," "All That" would see some sketches turn into spin-offs, with the biggest one being "Good Burger." In the sketches, Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, two fast food joint workers who get into all sorts of hijinks. The movie was directed by Brian Robbins, who would go on to become president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

In the years since the first "Good Burger," Thompson and Mitchell have teased a sequel numerous times,...

Good Burger 2 Teaser Trailer Brings Kenan Thompson And Kel Mitchell Back Together
Image
In the 1990s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show called "All That," an absurdist half-hour that was the kid's answer to "Saturday Night Live." The series ran for 10 seasons and served as the launchpad for performers like Nick Cannon, Amanda Bynes, Josh Server, Katrina Johnson, Lori Beth Denberg, Danny Tamberelli, Kel Mitchell, and the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member in history, Kenan Thompson. Like the adult series, "All That" birthed a handful of sketches that would get their own spin-offs, none more famous than "Good Burger."

Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, getting into hijinks while working at a fast food joint that fans loved so much, they got their own movie. Now, over 25 years later, the classic combo is back with "Good Burger 2." Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios released a teaser trailer today, opening with Dexter hit by a car being driven by Ed, one that he's converted into a burger mobile.

Welcome (back) to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order? Everyone's favorite titular fast food joint will soon be open for business again, as Good Burger 2 is officially set to come to Paramount+.

The original film debuted in 1997 and starred Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell of... well, Kenan & Kel. Good Burger's premise originated on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy show All That, often described as the kid-friendly version of Saturday Night Live.

In the sketch, Mitchell appeared as the lovably dimwitted cashier Ed. While Thompson's character of Dexter was created for the film, he and Mitchell appeared together in several other All That sketches, ultimately leading to their self-titled sitcom.

So, what's on the menu for Good Burger's second chapter? No one should be surprised that...

‘Island Zero: Sea No Evil’ DVD Review
Image
Stars: Laila Robins, Adam Wade McLaughlin, Teri Reeves, Matthew Wilkas, Elaine Landry, Anabel Graetz, Richard Sewell, Stephanie Atkinson, Joanna Clarke, Kelly McAndrew, Thomas Ian Campbell, Anna Gravél, Robin Jones | Written by Tess Gerritsen | Directed by Josh Gerritsen

Not the most imaginative of titles but that hasn’t stopped me watching many a movie and in particular a horror movie… So I was hoping Island Zero: Sea No Evil would be better than its title suggests.

Unsurprisingly Island Zero is set on a remote island. One in which a solitary ferry is the only route on and off of it. So when that ferry fails to turn up for several days in a row, the residents start to worry. And they soon worry even more when they realise something is killing them off.

Despite an opening scene that involves death and blood, this is much more of a slow burn of a horror movie.
