Image
Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on the now Netflix-broadcast show…

Match #1: Bayley def. Liv Morgan The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Before the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match at WrestleMania, Bayley took on WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan for the first time in four years. Morgan started to hit the Three Amigos on the outside but could only nail two before Bayley executed a wicked suplex using the ring steps. As Morgan jumped off the top rope, Bayley caught her with a stunner before landing the Bayley-to-Belly. Before Bayley could get the victory, Raquel Rodriguez placed Morgan’s foot on the rope to break the count. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria provided Bayley with an assist, stopping Morgan from landing the Oblivion and...

Stone Cold and Edge Came Back After Broken Neck But 1 WWE Star Can Never Compete in Ring Again After His Neck Injury
Image
Tj Wilson, aka Tyson Kidd, used to be the highlight of the WWE undercard during the early 2010s. He was a multiple-time tag team champion (with the likes of Cesaro) and loved wrestling. Hence, it was a sad day when he decided to retire early in 2015. Wilson had to leave due to a life-threatening neck injury he got while facing Samoa Joe. Unlike Edge, he didn’t decide to return due to the differing nature of their injuries.

Tj Wilson’s injury is significantly worse than Edge’s

Following the neck injury, Wilson was made aware of the grave consequences that came with his kind of injury, including the likelihood of death or permanent paralysis. Wilson firmly feels that his days as an in-ring performer are over, even though he overcame the odds and survived his injury.

Did WWE Just Tease Another Big Bloodline Betrayal? And What Does Karrion Kross Have to Do With It?
Image
Although he has been divisive over the years for much of WWE's audience, there is something subtle yet monumental occurring with Karrion Kross. His presence was the cause of much anguish and turmoil throughout 2024, leaving a number of teams and friendships dead in his wake. Curioser still, Kross has just been seen lurking around The Bloodline, where he now finds himself adjacent to the biggest storyline in wrestling.

This week's Monday Night Raw was an emotional night for Sami Zayn, following hotly in the footsteps of WWE's enormously successful first night on Netflix. The Honorary Uce has been an essential part of The Bloodline story and its overall popularity, but it's been a very vocal week for Seth Rollins, who had a different take on things. He suggested that Sami is nothing more than an accomplice to Roman Reigns's dreams, cutting the lovable underdog to his core, viscerally and deeply.

After the match, however, The Celtic Warrior found himself in a volatile confrontation with Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, who was watching the showdown from ringside. After some trash talk and a shove by Breakker, the competitors were quickly separated.

"We're Not Hiding What We Do": Triple H Explains WWE's Revolutionary Approach in the Netflix Era
Image
With the premiere episode of Monday Night Raw behind us, WWE is ready to push full speed into the Netflix Era. WWE released a promotional trailer package for Raw that featured the history of WWE and professional wrestling, but also saw Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque using "inside" wrestling vernacular like "shoot", "work", and "heel." The Internet reaction was polarized by the usage of these words, as those inside the industry generally shun the use of the terms outside the bubble.

By allowing the fans to co-opt the existing verbiage, Triple H took this opportunity to not only pull back the curtain on some of the inner workings of the professional wrestling business, but to reset the paradigm and prevailing narrative as to what WWE is. In an exciting new era defined by deep storytelling and enhanced visual presentation, Triple H is using his creative authority to chart...

5 Winners & 1 Loser From Last Night's Monday Night Raw

Monday Night Raw rolled through Grand Rapid, Mi, for a superb night of action from one of the best shows delivered by WWE's red brand recently. Gunther vs Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship will happen at Survivor Series 2024, with Gunther spending the night worried about Priest who defeated his compatriot, Ludwig Kaiser. Dakota Kai returned to Damage Ctrl who then won a trios match against Pure Fusion Collective, and Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill successfully defended their tag team championships against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a match that saw many SmackDown women invading. Bron Breakker and Sheamus had a verbal exchange that has led to an Intercontinental title match on next week's Raw.

Seth Rollins was the focal point of the evening, brawling with Bronson Reed and delivering a world-class promo to turn down Sami Zayn's offer of a truce with Roman Reigns. Later,...

'It Had Been Cut': Jesse Ventura Reveals Predator's Most Quotable Line Was Almost Nixed
Image
One of movie history's most often quoted lines is Jesse Ventura's famous phrase in the 1987 movie Predator: "I ain't got time to bleed." Most fans probably couldn't imagine that line not being in the film, but it came very close to being nixed without even getting filmed.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ventura was joined by pro wrestler Karrion Kross, who recently went viral for impersonating Ventura's voice. Ventura and Kross both quoted the line, and that led to the story of how it was almost axed from Predator. As the former governor of Minnesota explained, he was really looking forward to filming that scene, given the special military connection he had in real life with co-star Richard Chaves. Unfortunately, the decision was made to scrap filming that scene due to budgetary concerns, and Ventura remembered how disappointed he was at the time.
