His mother Lori is a family physician and single mom.

He and his mom spent February and March in Park City, Utah, until filming of Snowmen (2010) was complete. (February 2009)

His budding career began with a drama project at school, segued into acting lessons, then an acting competition in Los Angeles in January 2009 (where he won the child actor of the year award) and an audition for the movie Snowmen (2010).

He has an older sister named Mikayla and an older brother named Mack.
