There are plenty of great horror and thriller K-dramas, yet some of them managed to add humor and even romance into their story regardless of how dark they were. The best K-dramas are known for their intense plots, somewhat awkward humor, and quirky plot lines. However, many K-dramas are equally entertaining as they are complex and full of depth.

Recent K-dramas with darker themes have performed well in South Korea as well as across the world thanks to streaming.
