Through his megadeal with Warner Bros. Discovery, highly successful and prolific producer and screenwriter Greg Berlanti will be returning to more hands-on creative work, specifically writing for three different shows, each being developed for a different streaming platform. One of those series is a horror thriller titled Stillwater, which will be created for Prime Video.
Some comic book fans will be familiar with the show's title right away, as it's based on Skybound's horror comic book series of the same name by Chip Zdarsky. Amazon has given Stillwater a series order, although it's unclear how many episodes the first season will have.
Berlanti is best known for his work on shows such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, You, Titans and Superman & Lois. He and Carly Wray are working together to adapt the Stillwater comic for the screen. They will also executive produce along with Zdarsky, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs,...

Greg Berlanti Developing 'Stillwater' Series for Prime Video Based on HIt Horror Comic from Skybound
Greg Berlanti has become known for masterminding some incredible TV shows, having been behind the DC superhero contingent in The CW’s Arrowverse shows and Netflix’s You, which has just wrapped its five-season run. Now he is already working on several new projects, including adapting the popular horror-mystery comic series Stillwater into a new series for Amazon Prime Video.
For many people, Stephen King will always hold the crown when it comes to small-town horrors, but writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Ramón K. Pérez challenged the great American horror author with their 2020 “modern classic” about a town where no one dies. According to Deadline, Zdarsky and Pérez are on board the project as consulting producers, meaning that fans of the dark, twisting tale will hopefully be getting a pretty faithful adaptation that could easily become the next WalkingDead or From.

Greg Berlanti is getting back into the writers room.
The mega-producer has three projects, at three different streamers, in various stages of development — including a series order for Stillwater, based on the horror comic of the same name, at Amazon’s Prime Video. Berlanti is also developing a high school mystery series at Hulu and a family drama at Max.
All three projects come from Warner Bros. TV, where Berlanti has a rich overall deal and has been his studio home for most of his career.
Stillwater and the Hulu project, Foster Dade, will also mark Berlanti’s first teleplay credits in several years. While the prolific producer has a “developed by” or creator credit on many of the shows his eponymous company has produced — including most of The CW’s Arrow-verse series — he hasn’t had a writing credit since the early days of You, which is now wrapping its run on Netflx.

Greg Berlanti has set up multiple projects across multiple streamers on which he will serve as co-writer, Variety has confirmed.

Exclusive: How is this for continuity — as the last of the current series created/co-created by Greg Berlanti, You, is topping Netflix’s charts with its just-released final season, he is readying his next series — next three, that is, including Stillwater, which has been picked up by Amazon. Focusing on development and returning to writing over the past several months, Berlanti has set up the three high-profile new projects — all co-written by him — through Berlanti Prods. and Warner Bros. Television, where the company is based.
In a bidding war, Amazon has landed mind-bending horror thriller Stillwater, based on the Skybound comic book series by Chip Zdarsky and Ramon K. Perez, with a series order. Berlanti and Carly Wray (Watchmen) are adapting, with Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead) producing.

It’s been a good run, but the streak of solid-to-great Lifetime titles has come to a screeching halt with Secrets in the Foundation. A bland, familiar, and poorly acted entry in the “Inspired by a true story” subgenre, the film’s most interesting element is the question of whether the house at the center of the story is, in fact, haunted. And to most horror fans, the answer will be very obvious, very early on.
Following the tragic death of the family patriarch due to cancer, mom Elena (Kristi Murdock) moves her daughter Sadie (Julia Terranova) and her father Jim (Ken Lyle) from LA to small town suburbia. They secure the giant old Crane house for a steal, but in no time the family discovers that realtor Malcomb (Christopher Sky) wasn’t forthcoming about the property’s sordid history.

With a title like A Nurse’s Revenge, there’s no pretense about who the “villain” of the piece is. Thankfully this is never an issue for screenwriter Daniel West, who delivers a classic Lifetime film that never disguises the fact that it’s a thriller, not a mystery.
The opening of the film is particularly efficient in how it quickly and easily introduces its characters and the source of the conflict. Initially we’re introduced to Nurse Sharon (Kristina Clifford) as she tends to a young boy (Carter Hurst) with a broken arm. It’s clear that she’s compassionate, not just in her ability to administer care, but also to empathize with her patients. “The young ones are easy” she remarks to Dr. Park (Michael Whang) with a smile.
Then a group of teens are rushed in. There’s been a car accident (glimpsed in brief flashes) and though...

Lupin and Hijack creator George Kay is launching an All3 Media-backed indie.
Observatory Pictures has been set up in partnership with New Pictures, the All3Media-owned drama producer behind shows including Kay’s ITV drama The Long Shadow.
Under terms of the pact, all of Observatory’s projects will be co-produced with New Pictures, with All3Media International holding international distribution rights.
Kay will work closely with New Pictures’ CEO Willow Grylls and executive producer Matt Sandford. He will look to create and shown “ambitious, commercially-successful high-end drama series” for streamers and networks in the UK and internationally.
We understand Kay’s previous indie, Idiotlamp Productions, which he ran with director Jim Field-Smith, will remain operational, but only for existing IP such as Hijack. All new Kay creations will go through Observatory.

Not all of the Flash's villains are irredeemable or psychopathic; some, like Heatwave and Mirror Master, have redeeming qualities and lines they won't cross. Quicksilver, although a rival to the Flash, is still considered a hero in his own world and ultimately fought dirty to defeat the Flash. Captain Cold, Pied Piper, and the Shade are among the Flash's villains who have shown respect for him and have even become allies or redeemed themselves.
The Flash has one of the greatest and most identifiable rogues galleries of any hero. Even the Fastest Man Alive isn’t above being challenged by a zealous antagonist. Whether it's Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, or Wally West, every version of the Scarlet Speedster has faced off with some truly trying opponents.
But not every villain is completely irredeemable or a downright psychopath. Sure, there are villains like Reverse-Flash, but many of Flash’s other...

This article contains spoilers for The Flash.
It took about a decade, but finally, Warner Bros. got its Flash solo movie in theaters, with Ezra Miller reprising their role as the Fastest Man in the DC Universe. While the movie’s very disappointing box office return thus far likely means we’ll never get a proper sequel, The Flash does leave a few loose ends that would have presumably been addressed in the next installment. One cliffhanger in particular has even spawned a major online fan theory that just so happens to have been confirmed by director Andy Muschietti himself, leaving us daydreaming about what could have been.
Although The Flash is heavily inspired by 2011’s fan-favorite comic book Flashpoint by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, Muschietti branched out with a different version of events. But one thing the director kept from the source material was the death of Nora...

The following contains spoilers for The Flash, now playing in theaters.
The Flash is already known to feature Barry Allen, Supergirl and Michael Keaton's Batman, but one of the most mysterious parts of the film has been its villain. Many assumed that the return of Michael Shannon's Zod meant that he was the antagonist, but that's only partially true. In reality, the true villain is someone much closer to Barry, though his portrayal has a rather unexpected source.
The chief nemesis of The Flash across most media is Reverse Flash, namely Eobard Thawne/Professor Zoom. Surprisingly enough, Thawne isn't in the movie, though a figure very much like the Reverse Flash is.

Harley Quinn's redemption arc was spurred on by a genuinely shocking DC character: the Reverse-Flash. Though most Reverse-Flash characters are considered some of the most evil villains in the DC Universe, the third Reverse-Flash, Daniel West, had a redemption story of his own. So when he served on the Suicide Squad with Harley, it's no wonder he inspired the beginnings of her own heroic journey.
Harley Quinn originated as one of Gotham's most chaotically evil characters—which is saying something, given Gotham's general population. Though she was introduced as the Joker's unhinged girlfriend and right-hand henchwoman, Harley's story really begins with her history as Dr. Quinzel, a rising star in the field of psychology. It was eventually revealed that she, too, was a victim of the Joker's manipulations, but for the first few decades of her existence, Harley Quinn was just as brutally violent as her "puddin.'...

It turns out that Batman may have the most unexpected rival in the form of the Flash. A time-displaced Barry Allen revealed the secret ways in which he's learned from the deadliest fighters in the DC Universe and how he could give Bruce Wayne a run for his money.
The Flash is indeed the fastest man alive, but Batman is almost certainly one of the world's best fighters. With no powers or special abilities to his name (other than excessive wealth), Bruce traveled the world at a young age, and learned how to fight from the best of DC's martial artists. For years, the Dark Knight honed his skills and took what he learned back to Gotham in order to wage his one-man war on crime. He may not apply his fighting prowess in a lethal capacity, but he definitely knows how to disarm and defeat any potential foe.

Netflix has confirmed that British gang drama Top Boy is returning for a fourth series – its second on the streamer.
Ashley Walters’ Dushane, Kane Robinson’s Sully, Michael Ward’s Jamie and Little Simz’s Shelley will all return with production starting this spring.
Top Boy, which returned for its third season in September 2019, was originally commissioned by Channel 4 and launched in 2011 before Netflix took on the show for the third season.
The third season picked up as Walters’ Dushane returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. He teams up with Robinson’s Sully, his spiritual brother, partner and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile – prison – comes to an end. Awaiting them both is Ward’s Jamie, the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully.

New cast members include Lisa Dwan (Trust), Jasmine Jobson (Obey), Kadeem Ramsay (Sex Education), Saffron Hocking (London Kills), Kola Bokinni (Black Mirror) and Hope Ikpoku.
The new episodes pick up as Walters’ Dushane returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. As I began writing this, it dawned on me that it’s kind of funny how we’ve universally referred to Jessica Parker Kennedy’s character on The Flash as “the Mystery Girl.” Then again, we’ve been given no confirmation as to whom she may actually be since she first showed up during last fall’s Crisis on Earth-x crossover, so it’s pretty understandable that we do so.
Given that Kennedy is said to play a big part next season though, it’s expected that we be provided some answers as the current run speeds toward its conclusion. In fact, several clues concerning the Mystery Girl’s identity were dropped near the end of last night’s episode, “Therefore She Is.”
First, it should be mentioned that she happened to show up at Joe and Cecille’s baby shower bearing gifts, immediately placing suspicions into my mind that...

Ever since she first appeared at Barry Allen and Iris West’s wedding last fall during the Crisis on Earth-x crossover, pretty much every Arrowverse fan has been left scratching their heads as to whom the mystery girl played by Jessica Parker Kennedy (Smallville) may be. And, to further complicate matters, she’s popped up in a few episodes of The Flash in the time since.
From the look of things, many of us have been able to deduce that she’s probably a time traveler, most likely having some sort of relation to Barry and Iris – and that she’s possibly a speedster herself. As such, the prevailing theories are that she’s either their daughter, Dawn Allen, or their granddaughter, Jenni Ognats.

“Gunpowder” invites a lot of comparisons to “Game of Thrones.” Much of the three-hour series is spent watching Kit Harington swing his sword around, sport period garb while walking through castles, deliver stirring motivational speeches, and recruit an army to defend his fellow men from persecution. Future generations can look at .gifs of a grimacing Harington and guess, “‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Gunpowder’?”
As fun as that sounds, the limited series deserves slightly more respect than such frivolity implies. It’s an earnestly made, well-told, true story about a group of 17th century Catholics who rebelled against a Protestant king that saw their faith as a threat and wanted them eliminated. Dragons do not belong here, nor should one wish for them to fly in and set the world ablaze.
But while “Gunpowder” tells its story clearly and respectably — previously unaware British viewers will see Guy Fawkes Day differently — its...

The trailer for HBO’s newest miniseries “Gunpowder” makes one thing perfectly clear: Kit Harington’s hair should only be styled down. (Looking at you, Jon Snow man-bun.) In any case, the introduction to the latest three-part 17th century thriller features Harington as Robert Catesby, the driving force behind the Gunpowder Plot that enveloped London back in 1605.
Catesby, a committed Catholic, struggles to live in Protestant England where Catholics are ruthlessly persecuted. Robert Cecil, King James’ spymaster (played by Mark Gatiss of “Game of Thrones” and “Sherlock” fame), oppresses those who are openly Catholic through loss of property, torture, and death. The acclaimed cast also features Liv Tyler (“The Leftovers”) as Catesby’s cousin, Anne Vaux, and Peter Mullan (“Quarry”) as the Jesuit Father Garnet.
The series, which originally aired on BBC One, was received as a historically accurate drama with gruesome and violent scenes that shocked some unknowing viewers.
