Biography

Brigid Abreu

Edit

Biography

    • Brigid's grounded acting style grew in New Hampshire's independent filmmaking scene. After numerous short films and starring in her first feature, Brigid graduated Cum Laude from UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television's acting program. She was featured in the College Emmy-nominated series, Sanity.

Her favorite roles include playing Sleeping Beauty as a Xanax-addicted princess in the short Cindy, the spunky spirit guide, Nevaeh (in the feature Nevaeh), and Lisa, an agoraphobic who finds strength to open the door in the new play, Stuck.

She's New Hampshire's 2x Best Actress Dame Award-winner; trained with Charles Haid, Peter Weller, the Howard Fine Acting Studio, Tess Kirsch, and has performed at Boston Court Pasadena.

Brigid has had training in piano, guitar, and vocal performance (she enjoys learning Joni Mitchell's musical repertoire). Brigid lights herself up off-camera by writing screenplays. Her podcast Dear Vampire Diaries explores The Vampire Diaries TV series episode by episode, spoiler-free. Brigid co-hosts with her friends, celebrating what this show meant to them as teenagers.

Brigid's first name is pronounced like "frigid" and her last name, "Abreu," is pronounced "uh-BRAY-you" (like Atreyu from The NeverEnding Story).
