Jisoo was born on January 3, 1995 in Gunpo. She's a member of Blackpink.

She became a YG Entertainment trainee in August 2011 & trained for 5 years. In August 2016, she became a member of Blackpink, as a lead vocalist & visualist in the group.

Before she becoming a YG trainee, she was known by many for her beauty. She was quite popular in school because of her looks & talents. She used to study at the School Of Performing Arts High School. She eventually transferred schools when her family moved to Seoul.

In 2012, she was revealed through the "Who's That Girl?" teaser by YG Entertainment. That was followed w/ 2 photos in January 2013.

In 2015, before Blackpink debuted Jisoo already made appearances in various media, including a cameo in the KBS2 drama "The Producers". She also featured in several commercials, such as those for Samsonite, Smart Uniform, LG Electronics, and Nikon. Additionally, she appeared in music videos for Epik High and Hi Suhyun.

In 2016, Jisoo debuted as a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink on August 8th.

In 2017, Jisoo became a more prominent figure by venturing into hosting/MC. She joined Inkigayo as a host alongside Got7's Jin-young and NCT's Doyoung, from February 2017 to February 2018.

In 2019, Jisoo gained recognition for her fashion sense. She was featured in various photoshoots and attended events like the Dior pop-up store opening and the Cartier launch party. She was also included in the BoF 500 list, an index of people shaping the fashion industry.

In 2020, Jisoo was recognized as a top celebrity and influencer in the cosmetics industry, leading in average engagement per post. Her "two-bow hairstyle" and "dot style" makeup idea in the Blackpink's single "How You Like That" went viral and become a massive trend on social media platforms.

In 2021, Jisoo, gained recognition for her acting debut in the K-drama series Snowdrop. She also starred in Dior's Fall 2021 campaign and graced the cover of elle india in June, which makes her the first Kpop Idol to grace the cover of an Indian magazine.

In 2022, Jisoo achieved significant success, particularly in acting and music. She received the "Outstanding Korean Actress" award at the Seoul International Drama Awards for her role in the drama Snowdrop. Additionally, the drama itself achieved high viewership and ranked number one on Disney+ in several countries.

In 2023, Jisoo achieved significant success with her solo debut. Her single album, "ME," became the best-selling album by a female soloist in South Korea's history, selling over a million copies. The lead single, "Flower," become a viral hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Global 200 and the Circle Digital Chart. She also broke records for the highest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on the Canadian Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

In 2024, Jisoo saw significant success both as a solo artist. She launched her own label Blissoo in February 2024. Her solo debut album, "ME", continued to perform well, achieving 1 Billion streams on YouTube Music. She also expanded her acting roles, with appearances in the zombie comedy series "Newtopia" and the film "Omniscient Reader: The Prophet".

In 2025, Jisoo achieved significant success in both music and acting. She released her solo EP "Amortage" and its lead single "Earthquake," which topped the charts. Additionally, she starred in the zombie comedy series "Newtopia" which recorded the highest cumulative number of viewers in the Coupang Play series history within 10 days of launching and achieved success in the global market by entering the top 10 in 54 countries around the world and she made her movie debut in "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint". Her achievements were further recognized with awards like "Best Solo (Female)" at the Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025.
