Misaq Kazmi is an American director and producer of Afghan heritage. His first feature-documentary "16 Days in Afghanistan," screened at the British Museum, became a recommended film by Penguin Books and is an educational film in many universities in the United States. His media company brought and distributed Mohsen Makhmalbaf's film "The Gardener" to American theaters, leading it to an Oscar consideration.
Kazimi founded the "Dawn Breakers International Film Festival," and directed it over its 9-year run. The festival was recognized by MovieMaker magazine as a nominee in the top "Social Cause Film Festival" category.
Internationally, he is a founding member of ZEE group's global news television, WION. Kazimi was also the Editor-in-Chief of Josh Talks, the Indian version of TED Talks. He was selected by the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for his 360° Virtual Reality documentaries and later produced a web-series in VR with Facebook.
A TV series which he co-developed and wrote/directed one episode of while completing his Master's degree won the regional Emmy.
