John C. Forman

John C. Forman was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in 8 cities in 5 states. His first stage role was at the age of 14. He came to Wyandotte, MI, in high school where he explored his talents in school and community theater. He also played guitar and sang in small venues around the Detroit area. Awarded a full-ride acting scholarship to Eastern Michigan University, he was also on an Exchange Program to Reading, England. Returning to the States after a life-changing journey hitchhiking across Europe, John left college and joined a jazz-rock band.
John then moved to San Francisco to begin his professional acting career. He got his Equity card as the Assistant Stage Manager/Male Understudy in the World Premiere of "Snoopy!!!", the sequel to the Peanuts musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". He also earned a reputation as a respected Production Stage Manager (PSM). Forman was honored to be chosen by Mayor George Moscone to be the theater representative to the San Francisco Council for the Arts. He studied the craft of acting with the legendary Hollywood acting teacher Eric Morris.
John moved to New York City and soon was working as an Off-Broadway PSM. His final show as a PSM was for Joseph Papp and the prestigious New York Shakespeare Festival. After living for 12 years in NYC, John moved to Atlanta prior to its rise as a major film and TV production center. He worked as an actor and producer and also ran his professional acting training program for over seven years. Forman was selected as a Theater Artist in Atlanta's "Arts in Education" program. His first SAG film was as a day player on "World Traveler". He returned to the Detroit area in 2002.
John's first major work in Detroit was opposite Eminem in "When I'm Gone", one of the rap artist's most powerful music videos. He also appeared in two music videos by the Deka Brothers. These 3 music videos have had over 1.5+ billion views and counting. The Brothers then cast John as the lead in a short feature, "Father & Son". It was named the Best Film of the 2015 Hollywood Short Film Festival. A French critic's review of his work included: "John C. Forman delivers a true performance, somewhere between the composure of Bill Nighy and the craziness of Gary Oldman ...".
John continues to teach and work wherever his services are wanted.
