His daughter, Liane Harris, was murdered by her mother, Linda Sharon Harris Amos, along with her half-brother, Martin Lawrence Amos, and half-sister, Christa Wayborn Amos, at the Georgetown headquarters of the People's Temple in Guyana on November 18, 1978. After killing her children, Linda killed herself.
