Ryan J. Brown, originally from Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, graduated from Goldsmiths University of London and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Brown won the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Prize in 2016. He is the only screenwriter to have been featured on the UK's TV Brit List twice.
In 2023 Brown was named one of the Top 10 most influential LGBTQ+ trailblazers in Film, TV + Music by Attitude Magazine.
