For the next song, Lauper was joined onstage by John Legend, who assisted the singer on her hit “Time After Time.

The 17 singles Hayley Williams released earlier this month have lived in distinct formats across thousands of playlists created by fans. Shaping their own structure around the loose records, some opened their tracklist with the gritty “Hard,” while others opted to start on a lighter note with the bouncing “Love Me Different.” Now, they can all cross-reference with the official order as Williams reveals Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, the complete album in its intended order (with some inspiration from her fans).

Hayley Williams has always been bold — from her brightly-hued hair dye to her kickass attitude as the lead singer of Paramore. When it comes to music, the singer is equally unafraid. She belts her heart out and spits brutally honest lyrics across the band’s discography and her own solo albums, 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases/Descansos. But never has Williams sounded as brave as she does on her third album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. “I’ll be the biggest star at this fucking karaoke bar,...

In a moment of punk synergy, Hayley Williams joined young rockers the Linda Lindas for a performance of their breakout smash “Racist, Sexist Boy” at London’s O2 Academy Islington on Thursday night.
Williams has made a lot of music over the years — both as the front-woman of Paramore and on her own. Her brand of pop-rock can get real funky, dip into R&b, and channel Afropop icons like the Lijadu Sisters. But if you’ve been around for a while, you know she was pretty punk from the start,...

Late last month, Hayley Williams surprised fans by uploading 17 new songs to a website audio player for customers of her haircare company. The tracks later hit streaming services as standalone singles on Aug. 1, and now another one of them, “Glum,” has its own, nostalgia-inducing music video.
The video — co-directed by Paramore’s Zac Farro with Aj Gibboney and shot on 35 mm Kodak film — captures the yellow-haired musician strolling through a garden, sitting pensively in an attic, wandering through a house mid-remodel, and strumming a guitar from a hallway as she sings along to the track.

Hayley Williams has made it official. After leaking an album’s worth of solo material on her website, the Paramore singer has released the new songs on DSPs, complete with individual artwork. The cover art for each song is a different black and white photo of Williams, embellished with bright gold highlights.
The new music first came to light when it was shared on Williams’ website, which could only be accessed with a special 16-digit code. Hayley Williams has surprise-released 17 new songs on her website. It hasn't been revealed yet whether the new tracks signal a new album on the way or are entirely a part of a new project, though the singer did release all the songs at once, much to the surprise of her fans. It is only available on her website as of now as part of the newly released product of the Paramore frontwoman's Good Dye Young hair dye company. The web page leading to William's new songs is password-protected, and fans may only access it through a 16-digit code, which is sent via email. However, there's a catch: they must purchase the new product called "Ego" first.

Hayley Williams has always been a walking contradiction—in the best, most beautiful way. She’s loud and soft all at once. You see a punk rockster one minute, and then she suddenly shows raw emotion the very next moment. And just when everyone thinks they’ve got her figured out, she goes and drops seventeen songs out of nowhere, like it’s just another Tuesday. That surprise on July 28 came just days after she casually premiered a new song, Mirtazapine, on Nashville’s local radio.
And if that wasn’t enough, she also helped re-release Paramore’s debut album with a secret stash of old material. In the world of Paramore, this past week has been a whirlwind. But behind all the musical chaos and color, there are corners of Hayley Williams’s life that fans don’t always get to see.

Hayley Williams has leaked an album’s worth of new songs to her website.
The new music drop comes just days after Williams debuted an unreleased song, “Mirtazapine,” on Nashville Public Radio, and performed it live with Bleachers at last weekend’s Newport Folk Festival. Now, in addition to “Mirtazapine,” Williams has uploaded 16 new songs to her official website.
Currently, Williams’ website is locked, but fans can gain access by purchasing any product from her hair dye company, Good Dye Young. After checkout, they’ll receive a 16-digit code that unlocks the site. There’s no indication that a specific item is required — any purchase from the official Good Dye Young store qualifies. “If you don’t have an email with a code, maybe ask a friend for theirs,” Williams’ website advises. To that point, some fans have also begun sharing codes on reddit and social media.

Jack Antonoff brought his Ally Coalition Talent Show from New York City to Newport Folk Festival on Friday, essentially splitting his headlining set between a Bleachers gig and a guest-heavy superjam. The big “surprise” of the evening was when Paramore’s Hayley Williams came out to give a live debut to her new track “Mirtazapine.”
Previously released only on Nashville Public Radio, this was likely the first time many had even heard the song. For as cut with a ’90s jagged edge as “Mirtazapine” is, it didn’t feel overly anatopic at Newport Folk; perhaps it’s because William’s vocals weren’t as washed in delay, or because Antonoff’s acoustic guitar was more forward. Besides which, at the modern Newport Folk Festival, a little screaming and head-banging isn’t as unfamiliar as it once was.
Williams stayed on to duet with Antonoff on Modern English’s classic “Melt with You,...

Hayley Williams has unveiled “Mirtazapine,” a new standalone single that she debuted on Nashville Public Radio on Wednesday, July 23rd.
Taking its name from the antidepressant drug, which is typically sold under the name Remeron, “Mirtazapine” is a more lively, ’90s-influenced alternative rock cut from Williams. She provides an ode to the drug and the relief it gives her, comparing it to “a genie in a screw cap bottle” and singing “I could never be without her/ I had to write a song about her/ Who am I without you now?” Listen to a fan-captured stream of “Mirtazapine” below.
Williams chose to debut the song during a session with Nashville’s Wnxp as a show of support for public radio in the face of recent federal funding cuts. The station has been running a fundraising drive in response. “Thanks for keeping me company,” Williams wrote on the CD containing “Mirtazapine,...

Hayley Williams shared a new song, titled “Mirtazapine,” on Tuesday night on Nashville radio station Wnxp. The track, named for a common antidepressant, is a mid-tempo, shoegazey rock number that sees the Paramore singer unleashing her signature howling vocals.
Williams posted a fuzzy photo of a bottle of Mirtazapine on Instagram before the song premiered, hinting at its thematic tone. “Here comes my genie in a screw cap bottle/ To grant me temporary solace,” she sings on the track. “I could never be without her/ I had to write a...

David Byrne has shared his new song “She Explains Things to Me,” the latest single from the former Talking Heads frontman’s upcoming album Who Is The Sky?
The sweeping track was inspired in part by Rebecca Solnit’s 2014 collection Men Explain Things to Me, with the titular essay providing a scathing look at male arrogance and how conversations between men and women go awry.
“Many times I have marveled at how a friend (usually a female friend) seems to clock what is going on in a film between characters way before I do,...

David Byrne has unveiled the second single from his upcoming studio album, Who Is the Sky? Titled “She Explains Things to Me,” the new track finds Byrne exploring themes of gender, communication, and self-awareness, drawing inspiration from Rebecca Solnit’s seminal essay collection Men Explain Things to Me.
Produced by Grammy Award-winner Kid Harpoon and arranged by the chamber-pop ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra, the track features lush orchestration beneath Byrne’s introspective vocal delivery. Lyrically, it captures a narrator quietly confronting his own complicity in the ways men often diminish or overlook women’s voices. It’s subtle, self-critical, and unmistakably Byrne, merging thought-provoking storytelling with warm, artful instrumentation.

It’s rare for a band’s second bite of the apple to taste better than the first, but ‘90s alt-rock outfit Failure continues to be one of the few exceptions.
The Los Angeles-based space rockers’ decade-in-the-making documentary, Every Time You Lose Your Mind: A Documentary About Failure, chronicles their early ’90s origin story, beginning with the fated duo of frontman Ken Andrews and multi-instrumentalist Greg Edwards meeting each other through The Recycler’s music classifieds.
Andrews, who took over directorial responsibilities for the doc in the middle of the pandemic, then focuses on the band’s many ups and downs throughout the production of their first three studio LPs, primarily their third record, Fantastic Planet (1996), which would go on to be widely regarded as a masterwork. Butch Vig, who produced Nirvana’s Nevermind, counts it among his top albums of all time.

Zac Farro has scattered himself across three musical entities. There’s HalfNoise, the psych-rock band he formed in 2010, and most obviously, there’s Paramore, the genre-spanning band he slipped away from that same year and returned to seven years later. The drummer found a balance between the two projects. For a while, there were no musical ideas left without a home. But Farro’s forthcoming studio album Operator won’t arrive as a product of Paramore or HalfNoise. It’s the first record he’ll release as just himself.

Following an investigation published by the Roys Report accusing popular Christian rock singer Michael Tait of a decades-long pattern of grooming and sexual assault, Paramore singer Hayley Williams has called for a larger reckoning in the Contemporary Christian music (Ccm) industry.
Based on interviews with more than 50 sources, the initial report detailed accusations from three victims against the DC Talk co-founder and former Newsboys member. It was followed by a separate investigation in The Guardian, which prompted Williams’ fiery response.
Williams, who grew up in the Christian music world, shared her passionate feelings about the industry allegedly enabling Tait’s behavior in a statement posted to her Instagram Story. “no one but the tiktoker who broke this story has said a word about michael tait needing gay affirming support,” she wrote, preserving her original lowercase style.
