Though born in the Bronx, New York, was raised outside of Portland, Oregon, where his parents relocated when he was just six months old.

He is of Ukrainian Jewish, Irish Catholic, as well as French, Finnish, German, Spanish and Swedish descent.

Attended Portland State University for a year and a half before dropping out to pursue an acting career.

Favorite movies include 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), Taxi Driver (1976), Blade Runner (1982), Enter the Void (2009), Son of Saul (2015).

Studied acting under master teacher, William Esper, at his studio in NYC.

Graduated from Lake Oswego High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
