‘Hide and Seek’ DVD Review
Stars: Rachel Dipillo, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Samuel Larsen, James Landry Hébert, Sandy Valles, Alex Shaffer, Michael Filipowich, Joey Abril, Juliana A. Morgan | Written by Darrell Wheat, Kyle Arrington | Directed by Darrell Wheat

Dredd 2

Actor Karl Urban remains very keen to take on the role of Judge Dredd again, to the point that he tweeted this week asking for streaming services like Netflix and Amazon to look into a "Dredd"-related project as "There's a gold mine of Awesome Mega city 1 stories." The tweet was prompted by a fan-made Netflix listing for a possible "Dredd" film sequel.

The Reason You're Alive

Miramax has won the rights to a film adaptation of "The Silver Linings Playbook" author Matthew Quick's new novel "The Reason You're Alive" which Allison Shearmur ("Cinderella," "Rogue One") will produce. Quick will adapt the screenplay from his novel.

The story follows a Vietnam war veteran who, following brain surgery, must atone for a decades-old injustice in order to reconnect with his peace-loving art dealer son. [Source: Variety]

Continental to sell Recovery
La-based Continental Media has picked up worldwide sales rights to Ebf Productions’ upcoming thriller Recovery.

Kirby Bliss Blanton (pictured) and Samuel Larsen have been cast in the project, set to shoot in the summer.

Recovery centres on a high school graduate who searches for the smart phone she believes to be lost, all the while unaware she is the target of twisted kidnap plot.

Alex Shaffer and James Landry Hébert round out the key cast.

Darrell Wheat makes his feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Kyle Arrington. Eric B. Fleischman’s Ebf Productions produces with Sean Tabibian.

“With our increased addiction to technology, especially our smart phones, I wanted to explore the lengths people would go to retrieve something stolen… especially something with personal information on it, even when you know you’re in over your head,” said Wheat.

Recovery Finds Your iPhone in Hell
Anyone who owns an iPhone knows what a useful app "Find My iPhone" is. That shit comes in handy, and I've personally used it several times. That being said, filmmaker Darrell Wheat is ready to use it for nefarious purposes in his new movie, Recovery.

The flick, starting production this summer, stars Kirby Bliss Blanton (pictured; The Green Inferno, Project X), Samuel Larsen (pictured; “Glee”), Alex Shaffer and James Landry Hébert. Recovery was written by Wheat and Kyle Arrington (“The Originals”). Eric B. Fleischman’s Ebf Productions and Sean Tabibian are producing. Continental Media reps international rights.

The film follows Blanton's character on the night of her high school graduation after her iPhone is stolen and tracked down with a "find my iPhone" app to a house where the demented tenants plan on kidnapping her and making her part of the family.
