'House of Manson' gets U.S. release date
The bio-pic crime drama House of Manson will release in the United States on digital and physical media on August 5th from Gravitas Ventures.

Read more about the film from the official details below.

From The Press Release

Following a successful film festival run, director Brandon Slagle's "House of Manson" - a tense crime drama based on the life of notorious criminal Charles Manson, will be making its debut on digital platforms and physical media on August 5th in the United States from Gravitas Ventures.

Previously released in the UK as "Manson", the film follows the life of Charles Manson from childhood to his arrest at Barker Ranch following his involvement in the deaths at the Tate and Labianca residences (among others) during the summer of 1969, which ultimately led to his trial and sentencing.

Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Leslie Van Houten all remain incarcerated to this day.

The film stars Ryan Kiser (Dead Sea) in the title role of Charles Manson. Having previously portrayed the role in the unrelated short film "Lie" in 2009, Kiser's performance has gained accolades for his fresh take on the character, portraying him not as the ranting caricature often seen in low budget film adaptations of the story but as a flawed, human individual who also happens to be responsible for some of the most heinous acts in United States history.

Also garnering acclaim is Devanny Pinn's (The Black Dahlia Haunting) chilling portrayal of Susan Atkins, who has since died in prison of brain cancer, and Reid Warner's (Oren Peli's Area 51) harrowing and unsettling take on Charles "Tex" Watson - who now ironically runs a Christian outreach program from prison.

Rounding out the cast is Tristan Risk (American Mary) as Abigail Folger, Suzi Lorraine as Sharon Tate, as well as Serena Lorien, Erin Marie Hogan, Britt Griffith, Chriss Anglin (Supergirl), Julie Rose, and Maxine Wasa.

The film received awards and nominations from festivals all over the world including Snowdance, Canada International Film Festival, International Euro Film Festival, North Hollywood Cinefest, Action On Film, Twin Cities Film Festival, and The California Film Awards.

“House of Manson” is a riveting retelling of a bloody chapter in American crime."- Inside SoCal

Area 51 Review
Area 51 – where the hell do I begin? You have to respect Oren Peli for single-handedly redefining the horror landscape with a 10K budget and a haunted video tape (Paranormal Activity), an act that led everyone to assume the director would be treated as a golden God on whatever project he decided to tackle next. Unsurprisingly, Area 51 was announced – an obvious thematic followup. Found footage scares, alien conspiracies and a handful of unknowns who run around the Neveda desert? Hell, Peli was able to accomplish unspeakable bouts of terror by using an invisible monster, now he’d actually have evil creatures to play with! Blumhouse fanatics immediately started salivating based on Peli’s concept alone.

But then uncertainty set in. Years passed with no updates on the Area 51 front, Peli kept producing and writing other projects (The River), and not even Jason Blum could confirm what the hell...

‘Area 51′, from ‘Paranormal Activity’ director Oren Peli, gets a first trailer
Oren Peli didn’t invent found footage movies, but everyone in the horror genre sought to copy his style after Paranormal Activity became a mega hit. If you can believe it, it has been eight long years since Peli released Paranormal Activity, and after all this time, somewhat out of the blue, a trailer has arrived for Peli’s completed follow-up, Area 51.

The film is yet another found footage horror movie, with a group of young adults devising a plan to break into the mysterious Area 51 and uncover its alien secrets held by the government. Here’s the official synopsis:

Three young conspiracy theorists attempt to uncover the mysteries of Area 51, the government’s top secret location rumored to have hosted encounters with alien beings. What they find at this hidden facility exposes horrifying, unimaginable secrets. Now you can experience their harrowing adventure in this footage pieced...

Six Years Later We Get the 'Area 51' Trailer... Is It Worth the Waitc
After going into production in 2009, we didn't hear much about Paramormal Activity director Oren Peli's follow-up, Area 51. In fact, we didn't really hear much at all until June 2014 when the film got its MPAA rating and then, nada. Area 51 Trailer Reveals Long-Delayed Found Footage Horror Film
We learned this morning that Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli’s one and only follow-up film, Area 51, is finally being released in select theaters and VOD next month, and now a trailer for the sci-fi found footage pic has landed online. The story centers on three young conspiracy theorists who attempt to uncover the mysteries of Area 51, only to find horrifying, unimaginable secrets. Peli made this film back in 2008, directly after the success of Paranormal Activity, but it’s been sitting on the shelf ever since. Judging by this trailer, it's not hard to see why the film has sat on the shelf for so long. Even still, it feels like the movie would have had a much better chance of standing out five years ago as opposed to now, when the found footage genre has already been pretty played out. It's odd to think most of...

Watch: First Trailer For 'Paranormal Activity' Director Oren Peli's Long Delayed 'Area 51'
Remember Oren Peli? Back in 2009, he was supposed to be horror's next golden boy. "Paranormal Activity" became a massive sensation, with the super low budget movie becoming a breakout hit, earning over $190 million worldwide, and spawning a franchise. Then the filmmaker set to work on his next feature, "Area 51," but it has since become something of a mystery. 2011 was the last time we heard about the movie, and even then it was said to be undergoing reshoots and rewrites. But four years later, it's arriving out of the blue and the first trailer is here. Starring Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg, Ben Rovner, and Jelena Nik, this one lives up to the title, taking place in the most mysterious of government locations. Here's the official synopsis: Three young conspiracy theorists attempt to uncover the mysteries of Area 51, the government’s top secret location rumored to have hosted encounters with alien beings.

Remember when the tiny budgeted Paranormal Activity hit theaters in 2007 and was a box office smash? And remember when writer/director Oren Peli made his follow-up film, Area 51? Yes, Paramount Insurge announced today that Area 51 is finally being released next month, but its theatrical engagement will be severely limited. The sci-fi horror pic will debut exclusively in Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas on Friday, May 15th and will only run through Sunday, May 17th, with one showtime daily. Jason Blum Confirms That Oren Peli’s Area 51 Exists!
Hey horror fans – remember way back when Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli announced his second horror film would be another “found footage” thrill-ride called Area 51? Fanboys were ecstatic, haters laughed at another first-person horror idea, but the buzz was undeniable surrounding Peli, who single-handedly turned an entire sub-genre on its head – and demolished all competitors in his path.

But here we are, some four years after Paranormal Activity‘s release, and about six years after its production, and we still don’t have a release date for Oren Peli’s second film. In fact, we don’t have much of anything. The only thing we (supposedly) do know is that the film stars Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg, and Ben Rovner, who play some teenage boys snooping around the fabled Nevada military complex known publicly as Area 51.

Since I had the opportunity this weekend to sit down with Blumhouse Productions showrunner Jason Blum,...

‘Area 51′ Gets Alien Cast
Well, maybe not quite alien, but certainly unknown.

Although his name is associated with the most buzzed about film this fall, Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli isn’t falling into the trappings of Hollywood just yet.

For his next film, Area 51, Peli has cast three unheard of actors. Out of Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg, and Ben Rovner, only Warner has had even minor exposure, and that was in small, one-episode appearances on TV’s The Unit and Eli Stone.

Area 51 will be a film similar to Paranormal Activity, in that it too will be a movie done in the style of “found footage.” Although details are being kept quiet, the movie reportedly will follow three teenagers whose curiosity leads them to the much speculated about Area 51 Air Force base.

As with Paranormal Activity, employing unknown actors will add to the believability of the film consisting of real...

Paranormal Activity Director Oren Peli’s Area 51 Gets A Completely Unknown Cast
Zone 51 (2015)
While covering the American Film Market, Bloody Disgusting discovered the names of the three main cast members for director Oren Peli's Area 51, the filmmaker's follow-up to the indie supernatural thriller viral sensation Paranormal Activity. Peli is not going Hollywood yet, and keeping it low-key, with three virtually unknown actors - Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg and Ben Rovner. Aside from Warner's one-episode small guest spots on The Unit and Eli Stone, the trio have been virtually unseen in both movies and television. It seems to me to be a smart move on many levels. First of all it allows Peli to keep the costs low -- the estimated budget is around $5 million, which will probably go mostly toward effects. Second of all, not using any established or known actors allows Peli to play with the audience's perceptions of real/cinema, as he did with Activity. Peli began shooting Area 51,...
