Naotaka Hayashi is a Japanese screenwriter and game scenario writer at MAGES. He is known for the Science Adventure series (Chaos;Head (2008), Steins;Gate (2009), Robotics;Notes (2012)) and for Bureiburî deforuto: Furaigu fearî (2012). His younger brother is Hideki Hayashi, a lyricist that has written lyrics for Fhána and other groups. As an elementary school student, he wanted to become a manga artist and would draw manga in his notebooks, but because he was not very good at drawing, he started writing novels in junior high school. Later, while studying at a vocational school with the aim of becoming a novelist, he was asked by a senior student to write a scenario, which led his to enter the video game industry. When asked why he wanted to become a writer, he said that he had had strong delusions since he was a child and that he longed for stories that were out of the ordinary. he also cited Yuka Murayama and Chôhei Kambayashi as people who influenced him.
