Yazmin Joy Vigus

Yazmin's an emerging writer and director. Her BFI NETWORK-backed short Mermaids world premiered at the BAFTA-qualifying Underwire film festival 2022, where she was nominated for Best Directing. She was named one of Film London's Lodestars of 2022. And selected for BBC Writersroom Cornish Voices 2021. Yazmin cut her teeth in HETV working as director & exec producer's Assistant & mentee for Netflix, while developing her own original projects for film and television. Her passion is telling intimate, emotionally complex, (primarily but not exclusively) female-led stories, that make you giggle, punches you in the gut and then makes you cry.
