jayalakshmi started her career in the tamil industry through selvi serial in 2005 by playing the role of sivamani (ceylon) in the sun Tv channel. later on had huge recognition for her roles in arasi and Magal in sun Tv, devadhai in Raj TV, kalasham with Ramya krishanan and for the roles she played in Vettaikaran movie (starring vijay and anushka shetty) as jaanu, Saroja directed by venkat prabhu and as director cheran's younger sister in Pirivom sandhipom. She has been in the entertainment industry for the past 15 years.
