How ‘Perusu’ redefines taboo comedy
Image
Perusu, a Tamil-language comedy-drama directed by Ilango Ram, boasts a vibrant ensemble cast that brings its unique narrative to life. In an industry where comedic storytelling often teeters between brilliance and controversy, ‘Perusu’ dares to walk the tightrope with finesse. The film doesn’t just embrace humor—it weaponizes it to challenge societal norms.

One of its most intriguing and, frankly, eyebrow-raising moments? The discovery of the protagonist’s deceased father with an erection. Sounds shocking, right? But Perusu turns this delicate scenario into a comedic yet thought-provoking moment, proving that even the most awkward subjects can be addressed with the right mix of humor and sensitivity.

Cast of Perusu

Vaibhav Reddy steps into the role of Durai, the younger of the two brothers at the heart of the story. Known for his carefree and slightly irresponsible demeanor, Durai‘s world is turned upside down by the unexpected events following their father’s demise.

Sekhar Kammula cans sceenes in two takes: Vaibhav Reddy
Sekhar Kammula
Chennai, July 12: Telugu director Sekhar Kammula knows what he wants from his actors and often cans scenes in two takes, says southern actor Vaibhav Reddy, who has teamed up with the National award-winning filmmaker for upcoming Tamil-Telugu thriller "Anaamika", a remake of Bollywood film "Kahaani".

"He will not shoot scenes in more than two takes. He tells actors what he exactly wants before and after every scene. This allows the actors not to waste time from going through same scenes over and over again," Vaibhav told Ians.

Time flies when one is working with Sekhar, he added.

"I can't believe it's nearly 45 days.
