A very simple setup leads to a multi themed action movie that is both old school kung fu and a post modern Valentine to the kind of action films that used to dominate Hong Kong film studios like Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest.

Kung Fu Killer is a fight filled action movie, and as you would expect the fight scenes are excellent, Donny Yen is probably the best martial arts actor in Hong Kong right now. It is also a police procedural with the Hong Kong police doing all the forensics and lead tracking and high tech surveillance we are now used to from Hollywood, European and Asian crime films.

Well Go USA has released a trailer for Kung Fu Killer, a new film starring martial arts master Donnie Yen killer and a kung fu expert, who convinces the police to recruit him to track down a serial killer in return for his freedom. Sounds like the perfect kind of plot for a cheesy martial arts movie, but it seems to be a few notches above that. One, a wider release for the martial arts saga when it comes to cinemas on February 20th and two, it heads for DVD and digital on February 23rd. Action star Donnie Yen, director Teddy Chen and actress Michelle Bai to attend London Film Festival premiere.

The 58th BFI London Film Festival (Oct 8-19) is to host the world premiere of Kung Fu Jungle (Yi Ge Ren de Wu Lin), attended by director Teddy Chen, action super star Donnie Yen (Ip Man) and actress Michelle Bai.

The film has been added to the festival’s Thrill selection and will screen premiere on Oct 12 at the Empire Leicester Square Cinema.

Yen plays Hahou, a former martial arts instructor, imprisoned after accidentally slaying an opponent. But when a vicious killer (Wang Baoqiang) starts targeting martial arts masters, the instructor offers to help a police inspector (Charlie Young) in return for his freedom. Bai plays the woman loved by Hahou who is threatened by the killer.

Lff director Clare Stewart described the film as “a breathtaking thrill-ride” and said she was “honoured” that the festival had been chosen by [link...

I have been waiting a while now to see Donnie Yen flex his skills in a different style of movie, finally the moment has arrived. Kung Fu Jungle is the latest from the Martial Arts supremo, following recent vehicles such as Iceman Cometh and Special ID, fans wanted to see more from there idol.

The trailer is packed with with lots of Martial Art sequences and even showcases the famous Wing Chun wooden dummy (something every Kung Fu movie fan loves). There is also a scene where Donnie is fighting with a sword, which looks like a nod to his fight in the movie Tiger Cage. Kung Fu Jungle seems like it’s more on par with classics such as Sha Po Lang and Flash point,...

Donnie Yen is back in a movie that will have fans heading to the cinema in October 2014 and it looks not to disappoint. Kung Fu Jungle looks like a creepy thriller with tons of action and after the disappointment of Special ID, i think this will more than make up for it.

The movie is directed by Teddy Chan and also co stars Charlie Yeung, Wang Baoqiang and Michelle Bai. Shaw Brothers legend David Chiang also appears in the movie, which is always great to see and i am a massive fan of his along with Donnie Yen.
