Gabriela Paciel is a Cuban bilingual writer and director born and raised in Havana. She started her career writing for the Mexican TV shows El Rival Más Débil and Doble Cara. She wrote and directed numerous short films, such as El Viejo (The Old Man), selected in more than twenty festivals around the world including the Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano (Havana Film Festival), LALIFF (LA) and Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI Colombia); To Play With Fire, which screened on DishLatino and Vix+ (Pantaya) and The Cookbook, which premiered at Cinequest 2022.
She was part of the Latino Film Institue + Netflix Inclusion Fellowship 2024-25 cohort, and she has participated in several film programs, including the Torino Film Lab, Cine Qua Non Lab, Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today, Warner Media's Initiative Access to Festivals: Sundance, and RIFF Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab.
