Los Angeles, CA – Entrepreneur Josh Jones has acquired the animated film and television rights to Groo the Wanderer, legendary cartoonist Sergio Aragonés’ beloved comics character, with the intent of producing the character’s first-ever animated entertainment via Jones’ Did I Err Productions company.
Groo the Wanderer, now in its landmark 40th year of publication, is the longest currently-running independent and “creator-owned” comic book property – outlasting many of the companies that published it. The brainchild of Aragonés, who creates the stories along with wordsmith Mark Evanier, the Eisner Award-winning Groo the Wanderer has been published by Dark Horse Comics since 1998.

Los Angeles, watch out! Warner Bros. Pictures is about to unleash some dinosaur action on the streets of L.A. with this new project that the studio just picked up. This untitled pitch was originally developed as a web series, but now, it may see big screen time.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Pictures has bought a pitch about “a rapidly evolving species of dinosaurs who attack modern Los Angeles.” The script was written by Mike Bayman and the project will be helmed by John Clisham, who is “a longtime employee at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and who recently worked on the Titanic 3Dconversion.”
This project was originally developed by Break Media, an online network, to be a web series. Warner Bros. Pictures saw early tests of the project and swooped in to pick it up as a feature film. Break Media’s Greg Siegel will serve as executive producer with Scott Nocas.

Beverly Hills, Calif. — Comic book legend Stan Lee and his company Pow! Entertainment Inc. (Otcqb: Pown) today announced a partnership to produce original digital content with Michael Eisner’s independent studio Vuguru. The deal brings together two storied powerhouses in the world of entertainment that will produce and distribute studio quality films, episodic series and a variety of digital content across multiple platforms. Scott Nocas, a seasoned digital strategist who formerly held positions at Microsoft Xbox and Sony Network Entertainment, has been helping build out Pow! Entertainment’s digital strategy, brokered the deal and will now help the companies further expand and develop opportunities.
