Harold Perrineau's amazing performance as Sheriff Boyd Stevens is a huge part of what makes From such a great show. He masterfully translates from script to screen the tough ex-military man turned emergency sheriff, growing ill and emotionally unstable, but still keeping his head high. Fans can't wait to see what Season 4 will bring for his character after such intense challenges so far. But some may not know the actor has had an amazing career on television before starring in the ongoing horror series. He's known for playing Augustus Hill in HBO's Oz from 1997 to 2003, and he had already proven his talent for sci-fi mysteries as Michael Dawson in Lost in 2004, long before taking on the main role in From.
At the same time, fans of these TV shows may not have noticed or may not remember, but Perrineau has also appeared in several popular films since 1988 -- when...

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 10, "Revelations: Chapter Two."
A possible solution to escaping From's town might have been debunked in the season 3 finale. Even before the Matthews family became trapped in the first episode, many of From's characters have searched for a way to escape the Town. Abby Stevens (Lisa Ryder) tried shooting and killing all the residents, as she believed they were in a dream and this was the only way to wake them up. Sara Myers (Avery Konrad) heard voices that promised escape if she killed certain individuals.
Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) actually did escape the Town after being pushed out of the lighthouse during From season 2's ending, although she ended up trapped again in season 3. Dale (Cliff Saunders) tried to escape by going through the faraway bottle tree, but this ended up with Dale getting stuck and dying inside the wall of the Town's pool.

Life in the Town became even worse for Randall in From season 3, episode 4, when Boyd leaves him to the monsters. The monsters let Randall live, but only after brutally mauling him.
After being left for dead, having a horrific gash across his face, and continuing to experience cicada hallucinations, Randall continues to struggle throughout the rest of the season. Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 9, "Revelations: Chapter One."From season 3, episode 9, "Revelations: Chapter One" solves a major mystery involving the Boy in White. Since his introduction in season 1, the Boy in White has been one of From's most mysterious characters. He has been in the Town at least as long as Victor Kavanaugh (Scott McCord) has been there, with flashbacks showing that Victor saw the Boy in White after From's monsters massacred all the other residents. During the decades Victor spent trapped in the Town, the Boy in White would continue to appear and provide Victor with advice that helped him survive.
Years later, other From characters, including Ethan Matthews (Simon Webster) and Sara Myers (Avery Konrad) saw the Boy in White during season 1. Even though this was decades after Victor saw him, the Boy in White looked exactly the same and as if he had not aged at all.

Nearly everyone in From's cast of characters becomes focused on Fatima's disappearance and the search for her as her fate hangs in the balance.

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 4.Crows have played an important role in From since the first episode. Spoilers are ahead for From season 3, episode 3, "Mouse Trap."In From season 3, Randall (A.J. Simmons), a quick-to-anger newcomer who lives in an abandoned bus, is plagued by visions of cicadas. The insects first appeared several episodes before From season 2's cliffhanger ending. Eager to get rid of the worms writhing under his skin, Boyd (Harold Perrineau) tries to transfer his blood to the Smiley Creature (Jamie McGuire). The act kills the ringleader of From's monsters, allowing Boyd, Kristi (Chloe Van Landschoot), and Kenny (Ricky He) to perform an autopsy on the Smiley Creature. Although the body is bone-dry, the creature's body contains something else.
Shocked to discover that the creatures have human anatomy, Boyd, Kristi, and Kenny agree to leave the body in the basement of the Clinic. Later, the trio hears some strange noises coming from the basement. When Boyd and Kenny investigate, they find that the Smiley Creature's body is crawling with cicadas.

Season 3 of the captivating sci-fi horror TV series From premiered on MGM+ on September 22, 2024, expanding the action from the mysterious middle of American Township to a hospital in Camden, Maine. As Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) learns how far she has traveled from her home, questions swirl around the strange hellish landscape the characters navigate after being trapped.
As Tabitha's husband, Jim (Eion Bailey), continues to search for her whereabouts outside of Township with Mayor Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau), the clearer the mysterious neighborhood functions as a purgatorial allegory for lost souls trapped in between heaven and hell, with their spirits stuck in a horrifying limbo full of ghoulish monsters and nightmarish creatures of unknown origin. The real question becomes whether the show's creators intentionally planned to make Township a metaphor for the afterlife.

I first discovered From a little after season 1 began airing, while checking out some of the original series Epix (now MGM+) had to offer. The series hooked me immediately. The slow burn of its multi-layered mystery coupled with compelling characters makes for an intriguing watch. While season 2 felt like a step down, it still helped the show surge in popularity, with horror legend Stephen King even posting about it online. Now, having watched the first five episodes of From season 3, I'm thrilled to report this season is already the best in the series so far.
