There are no action shows quite like "Reacher" on TV. On the surface, it's a fun-but-ridiculous series about a literally larger-than-life man with fists the size of Thanksgiving turkeys who beats the ever-living, ever-loving, compound, complex hell out of corrupt people. But the show is more than that. Sure, it's funny as hell, mostly because of the deadpan comedic talents of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), but it's also a thrilling mystery series with compelling villains, memorable side characters, badass women action heroes, and much more. "Reacher" is a simple show, the ultimate power fantasy, and an absolute delight.
Mind you, the series works mostly because of its star. Ritchson perfectly captures the stoicism and the warmth of Reacher, along with his deadpan comedy. Indeed, his take on Reacher is often funny as hell, which makes his turn to a hulking monstrosity that beats dudes with his bare fists the size...

A battle between two action legends is currently brewing on Prime Video. In one corner, Denzel Washington and his action thriller threequel, The Equalizer 3. In the other, Jason Statham and his latest action hit, A Working Man.
Per FlixPatrol, A Working Man has stopped The Equalizer 3 from climbing any further on Prime Video's Top 10 Movies list, keeping it at No. 5 to A Working Man's No. 4.Yesterday, The Equalizer 3 was at No. 4, meaning that the action threequel has made a U-turn and is now on its way out of Prime's Top 10 list. Although it's not quite a win for Statham either, as A Working Man is also moving downward on the list, with Ben Affleck's The Accountant duology holding strong as the No. 1 and No. 2 movies worldwide on Prime Video.
Released in 2023, The Equalizer 3 is the third and final installment in The Equalizer film trilogy.

Age is but a number, but to some fictional heroes, it's really nothing at all. Comic book characters, super spies, and even the likes of "The Simpsons" that have been around for decades have stood the passage of time (even if the canon hasn't). One popular hero that won't be able to escape the ageing process, however, is one-man wrecking crew Jack Reacher, who, after three seasons, is thriving on Prime Video as one of the streamer's most popular shows. For the man playing the overly large thorn in the side of drug barons, weapons dealers, and generally bad people, Alan Ritchson isn't getting any younger, which he simply sees as a blessing for the hero he has no plans of parting ways with.
Speaking to Empire about the role that he's effortlessly made his own, Ritchson clocked an important detail about his character in the book series penned by Lee Child.

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has confirmed what fans of the Lee Child novels have been buzzing about for weeks: Season 4 of Prime Video’s hit action series will adapt Gone Tomorrow, one of the author’s most nerve-wracking and conspiracy-laced thrillers. Ritchson himself revealed the news on Instagram following a tease from Child himself last night. The actor posted a selfie in which he was holding a copy of the novel in his comically giant hand, making it seem like a tiny book for The Borrowers. Ritchson's caption included this tease:
“The thing about subway cars is you step on one and you never know what’s going to happen.”
In Gone Tomorrow, Reacher’s instincts prove tragically correct when a woman he’s observing on the train suddenly dies in front of him, but something about the aftermath doesn’t add up. Driven by his gut and armed with...

A new tease for the fourth season of Reacherhas been revealed by Lee Child, the author of the original book series that the hit Prime Video show is based on. Fans of the books me also see the update as a tease for which book is inspiring the plot of Season 4.
A new image was shared on Instagram by the official account for Child on X. The photo shows what seems to be a script for Reacher Season 4 on the seat of a subway car, though the author only stated in the caption, "Reacher S4..." It could be a coincidence that the script is on a subway car, or this more likely could be a clue that Season 4 will be based on 2009's Gone Tomorrow, one of Child's Jack Reacher novels that begins with the character traveling on a subway in New York City when the action begins. Check out the post below.

A new piece of evidence has fans convinced that Reacher Season 4 won't be Alan Ritchson's next appearance as Jack Reacher. Ritchson has portrayed the titular ex-military operative and lone wolf for three seasons on Prime Video, with each outing pushing Reacher to the limit. Throughout his adventures in the live-action series, Reacher's most consistent and reliable ally has been Frances Neagley (Maria Sten).
While Reacher refused to involve Neagley in his mission to eliminate Xavier Queen in Reacher Season 3, trouble managed to find its way to Neagley after she became a target of Quinn's henchmen, prompting her to help her old friend and be part of his quest to take down the ruthless and dangerous Reacher villain.

If there's one person who's more excited to get stuck back into the world of "Reacher" than its audience, it's Jack Reacher himself. Turning out an impressive third season that received rave reviews, the actor behind the bus-riding, bad-guy-punching hero, Alan Ritchson, has expressed his enthusiasm for what's in store in the future. Besides making huge claims about his alter-ego, he may also have teased a potential appearance in his old war buddy's spin-off series.
In a recent Instagram post, Ritchson submitted a fascinating slideshow of photos that were heavily embedded in the "Reacher-verse." The first image showed him with his co-star, Maria Sten, who has been with Ritchson since the show's beginning as Reacher's longtime pal, Francis Neagley, and is set to appear in her own untitled show. Pictured alongside Sten, Ritchson wrote, "Stopped by the 'Neagley' set to see my dear friend @mariasten who is absolutely crushing it.

While no official casting announcement has been made, Ritchson is now confirmed to appear in Neagley, with his cameo spoiled by the MLB of all people. After Ritchson was spotted filming a scene with Sten a few days ago in the stands at an actual Cubs game, the official X account for the MLB shared a couple of photos of the two actors in the stands. At this time, it remains to be seen if Ritchson's Neagley cameo will extend beyond this scene.

Alan Ritchson is officially back in action — or at least, prepping for it. The Reacher star dropped a fresh batch of behind-the-scenes photos to social media this week, offering fans a first look at the work underway for Reacher Season 4. And if his captions are any indication, this may be the most action-packed installment yet.
“Back into stunts with Buster, Eric and team,” Ritchson wrote alongside a photo of him stretching it out in a training facility. “Season 4 is going to be the most intensely physical season yet. My body is ready.”
That wasn’t all. In a series of six photos, the actor gave fans a glimpse of everything from costume fittings to surprise set visits, and even a special appearance from the man who started it all — Jack Reacher author Lee Child.

Jack Reacher has been spotted out and about in the real-world in our first look at the upcoming Reacher spin-off, Neagley. The action series has proven to be a massive hit for Amazon Prime Video, with the studio and streamer now looking to branch out into a Reacher shared universe, starting with Neagley starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley. And Amazon is wasting no time in getting the spin-off to screens.
While it had not been confirmed that Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher would appear alongside Sten’s Neagley in the spin-off series, it has now been revealed that he absolutely will, with the pair spotting filming scenes for the show during a recent face-off between the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox at Chicago's Wrigley Field (via MLB). Prime Video's Reacher universe is officially expanding — and it’s not doing things by the book. In fact, fans got their first real glimpse at the highly anticipated spin-off Neagley in one of the last places anyone expected: the stands of Chicago’s Wrigley Field. That’s right. During a Cubs vs. White Sox game this past Saturday, Neagley star Maria Sten and Alan Ritchson were spotted filming scenes right in the middle of the action. Ritchson, as one would expect, blended in about as well as an elephant in a petting zoo. Far from being a behind-the-scenes leak, the footage was captured and shared by Marquee Sports Network, confirming what fans had long suspected — Ritchson is definitely showing up in the spin-off series.

Alan Ritchson’s Reacher is a massive success for Amazon, and it’s frustrating that the studio seemingly wants to expand the franchise way too early, which is often a risky move. Nowadays, popular television shows love to spawn spinoffs, and let’s face it—sometimes it’s not about the story or the characters, but because of profit.
The fourth season of Reacher was confirmed ahead of the third installment’s premiere, but those waiting for it might need to stretch their patience as it won’t arrive sooner than expected. The culprit is the upcoming spinoff, Neagley.

The renewal of Reacher for a fourth saga brought so much excitement to fans, but a recent update might disappoint them after TV Line spilled the tea on the progress of the upcoming Neagley spinoff.

Reacher Season 4 has been confirmed! Yes, you read that right. The third installment of the crime drama premiered on February 20, 2025, with the first three episodes. However, even before the latest season’s finale episode aired, the studio announced the renewal of the show for a new season.
Helmed by Nick Santora, the Amazon Prime series is based on the popular Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child. Alan Ritchson plays the titular role, perfectly fitting the description of a former military policeman in the U.S. Army. The show garnered immense attention and went on to become one of the best-performing shows on the platform. In fact, Reacher became the most-streamed series in its debut week, a first for an Amazon production.

Alan Ritchson may be off our small screens as a very big man, with Reacher between seasons right now, but soon he'll be on the big screen in a big way in Runner, an action flick alongside Owen Wilson, which is currently underway in the sunshine of Brisbane and the Gold Coastin Australia. The film centers on Ritchson as Hank Malone, a top-tier courier assigned to transport a vital organ to a critically ill young girl. As her life hangs in the balance, the mission quickly unravels when sinister forces emerge, determined to derail the delivery.
Ritchson has taken to Instagram, something which he's great for — particularly to show off what he's eating for breakfast — to post a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, including a look at just how bloody he's going to end up in this film. Looks like a bone-crunching, good time at the movies if you ask us.

Understandably, Lee Child should have some say in the direction Jack Reacher is headed. He created him after all. However, with the help of Alan Ritchson and three massively successful seasons on Prime Video, "Reacher" has gotten the attention that even Tom Cruise's iteration struggled to attain. It's probably because of this that when it comes to the leading and massive man bringing the character to life on the small screen, Lee Child refuses to give Ritchson acting notes.
Speaking to The Express about the growing success of the show that began adapting his work in 2022, Child made it clear that it isn't his place to say how Ritchson handles Reacher: "I feel like I don't want to give him advice and I don't want him to ask for advice. What I'm hoping is that we cast him correctly and then it is up to him." Earning the part...

"Reacher" topped the Nielsen streaming charts back in 2022 and has remained one of the most popular shows on Prime Video ever since. While season 2 wasn't every fans' cup of tea (even star Alan Ritchson has admitted something was wrong with the second run of episodes), season 3 was a true return to form, which, considering it adapted the best book from Lee Child's popular series, isn't too surprising.
The third season of the show was based on the seventh Jack Reacher novel "Persuader," and pit Reacher against an assortment of foes, including Olivier Richters' Paulie — a gigantic hulk of a man who was ever larger than the already huge Ritchson. Amazon clearly knew it had yet another smash hit on its hands as the company renewed "Reacher" for a fourth season three months before the third even debuted. Alan Ritchson is charging full speed ahead from Reacher to his next action-packed outing, and it sounds like fans are in for a wild ride. According to co-star Dennis Quaid, War Machine—a new Netflix sci-fi thriller directed by The Expendables 3’s Patrick Hughes—puts Ritchson through the wringer, both figuratively and literally. War Machine, which Hughes co-wrote with James Beaufort, follows “the final recruits of a grueling special ops boot camp who encounter a deadly force from beyond this world.” The film doesn’t yet have a release date, but it’s expected to arrive on Netflix later this year.
Ritchson has been hyping the film since production wrapped, previously calling it: “I think, and you heard it here first, probably gonna be the, no, not probably, gonna be the biggest movie that Netflix has ever had.. This is the coolest thing they’ve ever made, guaranteed.”

Jack Reacher may have gone quiet on screen, but he’s still making a lot of noise in America’s living rooms. According to Nielsen’s latest Gauge report, Reacher was the most streamed show across all platforms in March 2025 — racking up a massive 6.6 billion minutes of viewing time. That’s another record-setting flex for Prime Video’s muscle-bound juggernaut, with Alan Ritchson’s take on Lee Child’s iconic character clearly striking a chord with viewers, as much as he was cleanly striking bad guys squarely in the chops.
Despite Season 3 having finished streaming, Reacher is continuing to dominate, which is yet more proof that the show is one of Prime Video’s biggest success stories. The streamer led the pack in March, joining Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV+, Max, Hulu, and Paramount+ in the month’s top 10 streaming titles. The numbers also revealed that overall streaming accounted for 43.8% of all U.

Prestige television can go out of its way to deliver high-concept ideas with an all-star cast, a puzzle box mystery, and an abundance of visual effects, but sometimes, all a show really needs to be successful is a big guy bringing the beatdown. "Reacher" has been a tremendous success for Prime Video, with its third and latest season setting new viewership records for the streaming service. There doesn't seem to be any sign of Alan Ritchson's titular behemoth slowing down anytime soon.

Be brutally honest if you’re an action TV buff: Doesn’t Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher feel like a beefed-up stars-and-stripes version of James Bond? Granted, one’s a retired US Army vet turned freelancer and the other’s a literal MI6 agent.
But there are way too many binding points against differences. And the one that sticks out over everything else is how both characters effortlessly tune out of any lasting romantic involvement by the time their respective credits roll through. It’s almost as if emotional detachment is part of their job description.

Sure, that might’ve felt right back in the ’90s. But in 2025? A hard no. Today’s world of inclusivity demands a lot more from our men, especially considering how well-written many of these female-led characters are on the other side of the gender column.

Alan Ritchson may be off saving the day again soon—but fans will have to wait longer than usual to see it. Following the action-packed conclusion of Reacher Season 3, Prime Video has confirmed a fourth season is on the way. However, according to a new report from TVLine, season 4 won’t begin filming until production wraps on the Frances Neagley spinoff series, which stars Maria Sten as Neagley. The two shows share much of the same crew, meaning Reacher will have to wait its turn.
Season 3, which debuted earlier this year, saw Ritchson's Reacher go back to his solo roots, delivering the kind of no-nonsense justice that made season 1 such a breakout hit in 2022. After a more mixed reception to season 2, the most recent chapter was praised as a return to form. With Reacher now Prime Video’s biggest original series, fans expected a yearly rollout to continue uninterrupted. But that plan might be shifting.

Ever since its initial release in 2022, Prime Video's hit series, Reacher, has built a loyal fanbase by delivering action-packed storytelling, a magnetic lead in Alan Ritchson, and a commitment to bringing author Lee Child's novels to screens. The recently concluded Season 3 of the series adapted Child's seventh Jack Reacher novel, Persuader. However, in bringing the story to life, the showrunners made one major deviation: they added in the character of Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) despite her not appearing in the book. While straying from the source text, the decision to do so turned out to be one of the smartest that Reacher Season 3 could have made.
Neagley has been a fan-favorite ever since her introduction in Season 1 of the series. Her return in Season 3 cements her as one of Reacher's constants. Beyond that, Neagley's presence also elevates the season in multiple ways. From adding a much-needed anchor for...

The following contains spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 8, "Unfinished Business," now streaming on Prime Video.
Throughout Reacher Season 3, fans saw how fallible Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher was. He kept making errors as he took on a new task, and conflated his personal life with his missions in Portland, Maine. It was all due to him not being able to escape the demons of old, and these memories haunted him for years as a Major in the US Army.
Luckily, Reacher had a solid DEA team with him as he chased the architect of all this agony: Brian Tee's Francis Xavier Quinn. Reacher yearned to kill the weapons dealer for past sins committed against his old protégé, Dominique Kohl. Reacher finally gets the chance to do so in the finale in a massive firefight, and it's one of the series' most explosive episodes. Here is where everyone ends up in the Season 3 finale.

Prime Video's Reacherhas quickly become one of the most thrilling action-thrillers on television. Ever since the release of its first season back in 2022,viewers have eagerly returned to the Reacher universe time and time again, with the series' critical ratings consistently being above 90%. Created by Nick Santora, the series is an adaptation of author Lee Child's bestselling Jack Reacherseries. With each season of the show focusing on one novel in particular, the recently concluded third season adapted the seventh book in Child's series, Persuader.
However, as with most adaptations, Season 3 did not follow the source material to the letter. While the season stayed faithful to the book's core premise, which saw Reacher embark on a covert mission to bring down a criminal organization from the inside, several key differences were made to how the story unfolded on-screen. The third season of Reacher may have just wrapped on Prime Video, but Alan Ritchson and Maria Sten already have strong opinions about where the series should go next — and which Lee Child books deserve the Season 4 treatment. In a new interview with Men’s Journal, the stars of the hit action series revealed the novels they’re personally rooting for. For Sten, who plays the fan favorite Frances Neagley (and is currently filming her own Reacher spinoff), the dream adaptation is Without Fail — even if she thinks it’s unlikely to happen.
It's easy to see why Sten would want this book to be adapted, because it has Neagley front and center. The sixth entry in Child’s best-selling series, Without Fail teams Reacher and Neagley back up to stop an assassination attempt on the Vice President. Given Neagley’s major role in the novel, Sten says she’d...

Alan Ritchson has gotten into some scraps during his time on Reacher, but a fight in the recent season 3 finale was on another level, as the actor told Entertainment Weekly that he was actually knocked unconscious while filming the sequence.
“I get the bright idea to shoot a stunt in a way, because I was like, ‘I want the audience to know that I’m doing this for us. I’m taking one for Reacher and we’re all in this together,’” Ritchson explained, “and so I wanted the camera to come up and just stay on my face the whole time while I get smashed through a table on the barn floor.“
Ritchson says he got into a “huge fight” with his stunt team because they didn’t want him to do it for obvious reasons. “I was like, ‘I’m doing it. We’re doing it,’” he said.

How are we feeling, Reacher fans, now that the eighth and final episode of the third season is out on Prime Video? Are we satisfied with the conclusion, or are we left wanting more? With all the action, suspense, and those jaw-dropping moments, it’s clear this season kept us on the edge of our seats. Now that it’s over, we can’t help but wonder what’s next for Jack Reacher.
Fortunately, we don't have to go through that dreadful renewal process wondering if we'll get another season of the crime drama because Prime Video already renewed Reacher for a fourth season back in October 2024. Now, it's just a matter of waiting for the new season to drop. An official release date has not been announced yet, and we're not expecting to hear of one anytime soon. However, I'd say there's a good chance of Reacher season 4 coming out sometime next year.
