Rhop’s Stacey Rusch Talks Tj Drama, Maya Angelou Memes and Her Reality TV Debut — TVLine’s Women to Watch
Image
From quoting Maya Angelou at the Season 9 reunion to cheering like a schoolgirl at the idea of sharing a bunk bed with a costar, Stacey Rusch left a lasting impression during her inaugural season on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Much of her freshman run was colored by accusations that she paid her eccentric, on-screen boyfriend Tj to boost her storyline. And guess what? We don’t even care if she did! The Housewives are too often plagued by fraud scandals, prison sentences and cancer hoaxes, so it’s refreshing to gossip about something as mundane as a weird boyfriend.

James Gunn on Margot Robbie's Potential Return As Harley Quinn; Wants Idris Elba's Bloodsport In The Dcu
Image
Margot Robbie made her debut as Harley Quinn in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, before reprising the role for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). When James Gunn took the helm of semi-sequel/reboot The Suicide Squad, Robbie was one of only four characters from the original movie to return.

Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) are dead, and Viola Davis' Amanda Waller is getting her own spin-off series set in the Dcu. So where does that leave Robbie's take on Harley?

While The Dcu did, for all intents and purposes, reboot the franchise, Gunn has cherry-picked certain elements from the Dceu projects he worked on and made them canon, so surely it would make sense to bring a major A-list talent like Robbie on board?

Gunn has been asked about Robbie's potential return in the past, and has always side-stepped the question.

Is Margot Robbie Returning as Harley Quinn? James Gunn Reveals
Image
Following the success of Superman, James Gunn has finally spoken about Margot Robbie’s future as Harley Quinn in his new DC Universe. Speaking to EW, Gunn said the big answer about her return “will be revealed down the line”. This one comment sparked headlines and sent fans into a frenzy.

Back in 2024, Gunn had made it clear that only Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), John Cena (Peacemaker), and Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle) would carry over to the new Dcu. That’s when people asked about the possibility of seeing Margot Robbie return to her comic roots as Harley Quinn, to which Gunn responded via Threads,

I haven’t talked to Margot about Harley for a long time. But I’d love to work with her again as Harley or as someone else. There are no plans at this time for anyone else to play Harley.

Still, he admitted he’d...

Wednesday: Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Brings Back A Dead Character, And Teases Lady Gaga Arrival
Image
There’s plenty going on in Wednesday Season 2. (Perhaps a little too much.) Jenna Ortega's Wednesday is suffering from gooey black eye-bleeds after using her psychic powers, there’s a death sentence hanging over Enid’s head, Morticia and Gomez Addams are now a much bigger presence on Nevermore Academy campus, there’s a whole swathe of new characters including Steve Buscemi's new headteacher, and Pugsley has unleashed a brain-munching zombie on the school grounds. That’s just scratching the surface. But as the trailer for Part 2 of the season reveals, there’s plenty more to come in the concluding four episodes – including the return of a familiar face who fans won’t be expecting.

Principal Weems?! Yes, Gwendoline Christie is returning in the next instalment, despite having perished in Season 1 – the former Nevermore Academy headteacher is Wednesday’s new Spirit Guide, appearing to her in visions. The...

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2 Trailer: Lady Gaga’s Arrival Gets Teased and Principal Weems Comes Back as a ‘Spirit Guide’
Image
The trailer for the final four episodes of “Wednesday” Part 2 has revealed the return of a fan favorite character: Principal Weems (played by Gwendoline Christie), who died in the Season 1 finale.

In the trailer, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) wakes up from the coma she fell into after Tyler (Hunter Doohan) threw her out of a window at the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. Weems, dressed as a nurse, greets her: “Rise and shine, sleepyhead! Ready for your sponge bath?” Suddenly, Wednesday and Weems are shown in a dream-like outdoor area with a door that appears to lead nowhere and a massive gorgon head statue with a fireplace in the mouth.

“This isn’t hell, Miss Adams, but I understand the confusion,” Weems says. When Wednesday asks, “If I’m not dead, why are you here?,” Weems replies, “Because I am your new spirit guide. Surprise!”

‘Wednesday’ Reveals Return of Deceased Major Character in Season 2 Part 2 Trailer
Image
A very familiar face is returning to Netflix’s Wednesday.

In the first trailer (below) for the second half of season two, Gwendoline Christie has returned as Larissa Weems, who in the first season was the shapeshifting principal of Nevermore Academy. The character was killed in the first-season finale, but now Weems is back to serve as Wednesday’s pesky “spirit guide” that only she can see (Wednesday, understandably, seems rather taken aback by this development).

Absent from the trailer: Lady Gaga, who is playing an as-yet-unrevealed part in the second half of the season.

The first four episodes of the new season are currently blowing up Netflix’s TV most-watched chart, with 50 million views worldwide, which is about the same viewership as the blockbuster first season two years ago. The second half of the season drops Sept. 3.

The hit series starring Jenna Ortega was the focus of a recent Hollywood Reporter cover story,...

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Teases Darker Conclusion And Return Of [Spoiler]
Image
Christina Ricci isn’t the only character from Wednesday Season 1 to return unexpectedly in Season 2.

In the newly released trailer for Part 2 of Season 2, which arrives on Netflix September 3, Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Larissa Weems is back, at least in Wednesday’s post-Episode 4 regaining of consciousness, asking her if she’s ready for her sponge bath.

The titular main character asks if she’s in hell, but no.

In a shocking turn of events, Weems is Wednesday’s new spirit guide, or figure from beyond death who will help Wednesday with her psychic visions. Jenna Ortega portrayed Goody Addams, Wednesday’s father’s ancestor who helped her with her ability in Season 1. The good news is: Wednesday’s not dead.

“Tyler’s still out there. He has plans to kill both of us. I’m going to fix it,” Wednesday tells Enid (Emma Myers), her werewolf roommate whose death came...

‘Wednesday’ Drops a Ghostly Surprise and Subtle Hint at Lady Gaga’s Debut in Season 2, Part 2 Trailer
Image
A new trailer for the second part of “Wednesday” Season 2 is out, and it seemingly teases Lady Gaga’s arrival to the crazy and cooky world of the Addams Family and Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams.

The action-packed trailer is full of twists, surprises and familiar faces as Wednesday hunts down Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin. This includes the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems, who was killed at the end of “Wednesday” Season 1. Weems’ return, however, comes with a twist: Wednesday is the only one who can see her.

“What ring of hell is this?” Wednesday asks, seeing Larissa dressed as a nurse as the young Addams recovers from her near-fatal experience at the end of “Season 2, Part 1.”

“This isn’t hell, Ms. Addams,” Larissa replies. “But I understand the confusion.”

“If I’m not dead, then why are you here?” Wednesday asks.

Margot Robbie’s Honest Answer on Returning as Harley Quinn While James Gunn Keeps the Door to Dcu Open For Her
Image
Margot Robbie has a heart of gold; she’s willing to share her iconic role of Harley Quinn in the DC Universe with others. While James Gunn, in his recent comments, made it clear that the door for her return in the Dcu wasn’t entirely closed yet, the actress herself previously pretty much buried the idea of her return, in an interview back in 2024.

Talking to Variety, she addressed her return as Harley to the respective super-verse, saying,

I always wanted Harley to be a character that would get passed on to other actresses to play, the way there are so many iconic male characters. That was always the dream for her.

Considering her comments, it feels like, despite being pretty much the best live-action portrayer of the respective character, Robbie won’t be displeased with letting someone else play with her. But James Gunn, on the other hand,...

Jimmy Fallon Humorously Falls Down the Conspiracy Rabbit Hole Over Taylor Swift’s New Album | Video
Image
Like a ton of other people today, Jimmy Fallon had some feelings about Taylor Swift’s announcement of her upcoming new album, which you probably already know is called “The Life of a Showgirl.”

And taking a cue from Swift’s very devoted fans, Fallon during his monologue on Tuesday’s “The Tonight Show” tried to figure out everything he could about the record from “clues” Swift may have dropped — to the point he basically turned into a conspiracy freak. Amusingly, of course.

“Well, guys, this morning at 12:12am, on Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast, Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl.’ How? Americans are like, ‘Wait, there’s good news out there. I don’t know what to do with myself,'” Fallon joked.

“Seriously, we all need Taylor Swift right now, because without her music and her merchandise, we end up doing weird stuff,...

‘Wednesday’: Will Lady Gaga Play Morticia’s Sister Ophelia? What We Know So Far
Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Wednesday Season 2, Part 1.] Wednesday‘s second season is half over, but a big question looms as we head into Part 2 this September. Who is Morticia’s (Catherine Zeta-Jones) sister, Ophelia? And could superstar Lady Gaga be playing her? While she’s only been mentioned by Morticia onscreen, we can’t help but wonder if she’ll make an appearance before the season is through, with the buildup towards the second half. As fans saw in Part 1, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) had begun to abuse her psychic abilities, and she experienced black tears, a seizure spell, and more symptoms from trying to use her gift to solve the mystery of who was behind Jericho’s murderous murder of crows. As viewers learned, it was Judi Spannegel (Heather Matarazzo) who was behind the deadly attacks as she continued her father’s legacy of experimenting on Outcasts in the basement of Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. The Beatles have had the most No. 1 hits ever with 20 different chart-toppers. They're followed closely by Mariah Carey, who has led the tally with 19 songs; she also holds the record for the most cumulative weeks spent at the top spot. Carey's 1995 duet with Boyz II Men, "One Sweet Day," once held the record for the longest run on top with 16 weeks at No. 1. But that was eventually tied by "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber in 2017, and then finally bested by Lil Nas X, whose "Old Town Road" featuring Billy Ray Cyrus commanded the chart for 19 weeks...

Ortega and Myers sit down and reminisce over their days of shooting all over Ireland. Launching questions back and forth, they also discuss their opinions on the show’s future. Regarding season 3, Ortega had this to say about the Addams Family (via Tudum):

I would like to see the Addams family dealing with a bit less conflict. They’re a happy family. In Season 1 we saw a lot of Wednesday versus Morticia. And then in Season 2, Morticia versus Hester. I would love for them to just be the happy, disgusting, off-putting family that we know and love for a bit.

Image
After three long years, Wednesday Season 2 is finally here. The Tim Burton-directed Addams Family series starring Jenna Ortega (Scream) has returned to Nevermore Academy. In the lead up to the series' major gothic comeback, this morbid teenager has gotten so much merchandise that it would make her sick. Now, Mezco Toyz has only added to the deadly pile with a new figure based on the Netflix series.

Margot Robbie Unlikely To Return As Harley Quinn In The Dcu; Update On DC Studios/The Batman 2 Villain Plans
Image
Margot Robbie first played Harley Quinn in 2016's Suicide Squad. She later reprised the role in Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn—renamed Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey following a disappointing opening weekend—and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

All those movies took place in the Dceu, of course, and now that DC Studios has relaunched that franchise as the Dcu, it's unclear whether there's a place for Robbie.

In The Hollywood Reporter's piece about Weapons director Zach Cregger's hopes to make Henchmen, a movie about a low-level henchman in the Gotham crime world who gains notoriety after managing to incapacitate Batman, there's a minor update about The Joker and Harley Quinn (who would also heavily feature in the movie).

"DC Studios hasn't yet cast a Joker or a Batman," the trade confirms. "Harley Quinn, theoretically but probably not, could still be...

Hunter Doohan would like to report a “hate crime.”

The actor, who plays Tyler/Hyde on Netflix’s hit series “Wednesday,” says he missed Lady Gaga when she filmed her guest spot on Season 2. “I’m the one gay guy on the show, and I didn’t get to meet Gaga,” Doohan tells me in the latest episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast.

Feigning outrage, he says, “This is bullshit.”

But he did get to meet Christina Ricci’s son when they shot their deadly Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital scene. “I think he was disappointed that it was me and not Jenna [Ortega],” Doohan cracks.

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Carves Out a Darker, Deeper Nevermore
Image
“Wednesday” has returned to dish out another dose of deliciously dark gothic charm. The storyline stretches its slithery tendrils into new territory that has its title character, embodied by Jenna Ortega, face foes old and new (and family) to uncover the latest supernatural mystery endangering Nevermore Academy. What it meant for production designer Mark Scruton and his team, which included designer Philip Murphy, was to expand familiar visual haunts with surprising new twists.

One of those twists, at least from a production standpoint, was shooting the season in an entirely different country. Romania was swapped for Ireland, with Ashford Studios stepping in for the stage work and areas of Dublin, Wicklow, and Offaly for practical backdrops. But fear not, Nevermore still oozes its signature moody trappings — labyrinthine corridors, eerie stained glass, and foreboding woods — but now there are fresh corners of the school revealed, which echo the gear-turning soul of the Industrial Age.
