Biography

    • Raj Bhavsar is a U.S. Olympic Medalist in men's gymnastics. He was recently the lead in the short film, MINE, written and directed by Melissa Tomjanovich. MINE secured the Silver Remy award at the Houston Film Festival in 2024. Also in 2024, Raj led in two short films directed by Jason Chu (Terminator: Dark Fate, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).

He has trained with Mathew Arkin, David Rountree, and Robert Carnegie of Playhouse West.

He earned a bronze medal as a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team. In 2004, Raj was named alternate to the Olympic team and missed competing in Athens. However, he persevered and garnered an Olympic birth four years later in Beijing. Despite being underdogs, that team brought home a bronze medal, and the story became a sentimental favorite of the Beijing games.

His iconic move, 'The Bhavsar' is a parallel bars release skill that is now performed by gymnasts across the world.

Raj was also a performing artist for Cirque du Soleil's cinema-based circus show, IRIS, which debuted at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
