“S.W.A.T.” star David Lim is voicing his disappointment that a spinoff is moving forward without involving him or most of his castmates.

It’s been a rocky road over the past few years for the law enforcement drama. CBS canceled “S.W.A.T.” after six seasons in 2023, but following an uproar from fans, reversed the decision and renewed the series for a seventh season. After Season 7 began airing, the network decided to extend it one more time before a final cancellation after Season 8. The series finale aired on May 16, and two days later, Sony Pictures Television announced that it would be producing a spinoff titled “S.W.A.T. Exiles.” (Neither CBS nor any other platform has agreed to air it yet.) Series lead Shemar Moore is currently the only cast member attached to “Exiles.”

That isn’t sitting right with Lim, who played officer Victor Tan for all eight seasons of the CBS drama.

“The Sepulveda Protocol” Plot: A blackout throws the city into chaos, forcing 20-Squad onto the streets for an emergency patrol day, which quickly escalates when Hondo and team uncover a terror threat.

CBS’s Swat season seven episode four is the first part of two-part episode that says goodbye to Alex Russell as Jim Street as a series regular. Episode four, “Spare Parts,” airs on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 8pm Et/Pt, and was directed by Cherie Dvorak from a script by Ryan Keleher.

As CBS’ S.W.A.T. neared its milestone 100th episode, original cast member Lina Esco after five years of playing Christina “Chris” Alonso got to tackle a new role, as director.

In this Sunday’s episode (CBS, 10/9c), titled “Donor,” when hospital employees are targeted by a gunman, the S.W.A.T. team races to find a grieving father causing the terror. Elsewhere, Hondo searches for evidence to prove his theory of the culprit behind a rise in Los Angeles stash houses.

CBS’ S.W.A.T. team this Wednesday raced to find former unit leader Buck after he fell conspicuously off the grid and they came to realize he planned to harm himself. As that manhunt played out in flashback, we saw each team member discuss with a counselor the mental and emotional difficulties inherent to their line of work, all the while never quite disclosing Buck’s ultimate fate.

Midway through the hour, Buck (played by Louis Ferreira ) was tracked down via telephone — alive, at a diner, but unwilling to hear out Hondo (Shemar Moore) and put off what he intended to do.
