Originally from the Chicagoland area, Cynthia spent her adolescence in Las Vegas and after graduating as high school valedictorian, moved to Los Angeles. The UCLA Summa Cum Laude continues to hone her craft under Master Teacher Gloria Gifford and has also studied at Lesly Kahn & Co., Margie Haber Studio, and is an alumna of The Hothouse Spontaneous Theater Company.
A former news reporter, Cynthia costarred on an episode of the Aaron Sorkin-penned HBO drama The Newsroom (2012), was directed by Theodore Melfi (Hidden Figures) in Roshambo (2010) and again by Academy Award-nominated Alonso Mayo in indie comedy Fixed (2017) after working with him as ensemble lead in the award-winning web series Untitled Murder Project 2.0 (2013).
Heavily stage-trained, Cynthia was directed by Peter DuBois (Huntington Theatre Company) and Stephen Belber for The Power of Duff at Geffen Playhouse, opposite Josh Stamberg. She received a standout performance nod from Broadway World for her performance as Japanese courtesan Sei Shonagon, and gave "the most compelling and disturbing soliloquy... with chilling aplomb" (Denise Walker, Life In LA) in Joyce Carol Oates' I Stand Before You Naked (dir. Gloria Gifford).
Cynthia is a member of the award-winning GGC Players Theatre Company (dir. Gloria Gifford) in Hollywood, CA, where she has starred in some of her favorite stage roles, including Shakespeare's Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing), Luciana (The Comedy of Errors), Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), and Cleopatra.
