Today, Collider is inviting audiences to buckle up and prepare for the ride of their lives courtesy of an exclusive batch of first-look images for Shawn Simmons’ (Wayne) feature-length directorial debut, Eenie Meanie. Starring Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), the film is overflowing with high-octane sequences and stunt work that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. In addition to debuting the film’s first lineup of stills, we also caught up with Simmons to chat with him about what audiences can expect from the movie, which is set to speed onto Hulu later this summer.
Describing the production as something that will make you “feel like you’re watching this small, ‘90s indie, and then it blows up into this massive story,” Simmons provided a synopsis of the plot at the center of the movie, revealing:

Did you love Mike White's globe-trotting HBO "anthology" series "The White Lotus" but wish it starred Nicole Kidman in a series of increasingly baffling wigs? You're in luck! That show exists, kind of!
Fans of "The White Lotus," a mystery show set in beautiful and far-flung locales including Hawai'i, Italy, and Thailand, should definitely check out "Nine Perfect Strangers," the second season of which is airing on the streamer weekly as I write this. Lots of folks are already checking it out: According to FlixPatrol, it's sitting in the number four slot in Hulu's top 10 TV shows as of June 13, 2025.
Based on a best-selling book by Liane Moriarty (more on her shortly), the series stars Oscar and Emmy winner Kidman as Masha Dmitrichenko, a woman hailing from Russia who's famous for her wellness center, Tranquillum House, in California. In both seasons, nine people show up at her center...

In 2010, Sang-yeop Yeun, an actor who went professionally as Steven, booked a role on "The Walking Dead," a zombie horror television show based on a long-running comic book series. While this wasn't his first professional credit -- you may have forgotten his cameo on "The Big Bang Theory" -- it was his breakout role, immediately endearing the performer to a wide audience and opening the doors on his career.
Since then, Yeun has played a rich and varied slate of roles in a wide variety of genres and tones while simultaneously seeming like a kind-hearted, self-effacing, and easily funny hang, thanks to a series of viral appearances with Conan O'Brien and a post-fame uncovered Second City sketch. He strikes one as an unpretentious actor who can do it all, and his body of work supports this thesis with aplomb.

Ready or Not was my favorite horror movie of 2019, it was a nearly perfect film. Samara Weaving headed the star-studded cast, and as usual, gave a gonzo performance as Grace, a new bride who has married into a family that acquired their wealth through their Le Domas Family Games company.
After the wedding, Grace sets down with the Le Domas family to participate in their somewhat odd tradition: at midnight on the wedding day, the new family member must draw a card from a special puzzle box, and everyone then plays whatever game is written on that card. Her new husband explains that a long-ago ancestor made a deal with someone named le Bail, who promised them that their fortune would remain as long as they observed this tradition.
Grace, still in her wedding gown, draws a card that reads “Hide and Seek”, and we see each of the family members react.

Searchlight Pictures has announced that principal photography has now wrapped on horror comedy sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, which has also set a theatrical release of April 10, 2026.
The studio has also shared a production still featuring our first behind-the-scenes look at returning star Samara Weaving as Grace, alongside new co-star Kathryn Newton.
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Abigail star's role has not been disclosed, but Newton and Weaving are handcuffed together in this photo, which will most likely turn out to be a significant plot point. Will these characters be forced to play another twisted game of hide and seek while (literally) chained at the wrist?
Radio Silence, aka Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, return to direct from a screenplay from Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. The sequel also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg(!) and Elijah Wood.

Ready or Not, the 2019 horror breakout from Scream directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, is set to get a sequel soon. Officially titled Ready or Not: Here I Come—a great nod to the original's hide-and-seek game— the film will see Samara Weaving reprising her role as Grace, one of the best "final girls" we've seen in recent years. Guy Busick will once again have screenwriting duties alongside R. Christopher Murphy, and he offered major details about the sequel, noting that "it picks up the second after the first movie ends."
Busick is a busy man these days. Recently, he was part of the writing team behind another very important sequel, Final Destination Bloodlines. Busick is also in charge of writing the upcoming Scream sequel, Scream 7 (he co-wrote 2022's Scream and Scream VI with Ready or Not producer James Vanderbilt).

The biographical film, which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, follows two girls’ obsessive friendship and shared fantasy world as it spirals out of control, ultimately resulting in tragedy.

Scream Queen Of Horror TV (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Now, in 2025, the horror genre is having a moment. It isn’t just surviving, it is thriving. Streaming platforms are snapping up creepy content left and right. Studios like A24 and Neon are turning indie horror into high art. Big-name franchises are back from the dead, and horror TV is officially a thing again. And it all started when scream queens like Jenna Ortega of Wednesday and Samara Weaving of The Babysitter stepped onto the scene. But through all the big names and chaos, one name was quietly putting in the work: Sophie Thatcher.
Now, as everyone debates who the true scream queen of this era is, let’s rewind. Because before MaXXXine wrapped up its bloody trilogy and before Heretic shattered box office expectations, Thatcher was already stacking a resume most horror actresses would kill for, figuratively.

Ready or Not, the horror comedy released in 2019, was a surprisingly successful piece that proved the genre could still be effective without relying on a major franchise or familiar IP. Its hilarious conclusion left things open, and after a strong box office performance, talks about a sequel began. Ready or Not: Here I Come was eventually announced, but six years have already passed since we saw Samara Weaving kicking butt in a huge mansion.
Repeating the same success of the original will be a challenge–especially since a few years have passed. However, producer James Vanderbilt is confident that not rushing things will work out for the best: "We were really hard on ourselves on not just repeating what the first movie was."
Vanderbilt spoke to Comic Book during the promotion of his latest movie, Guy Ritchie's Fountain of Youth. The veteran screenwriter behind 2022's Scream and Scream VI also...

Whether you’re ready or not, Ready or Not: Here I Come is on the way — and let us tell you that as huge fans of the first movie, we’re more than ready. The star-studded cast has been announced, and the beginning pieces are falling together for what will undoubtedly be another extraordinary horror-comedy project to come from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known collectively as Radio Silence. The biggest missing bit of information that we have yet to receive is an update surrounding the storyline, which will be penned by returning writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Thankfully, producer James Vanderbilt recently teased what awaited audiences when the follow-up installment eventually explodes into cinemas.
As fans will know, the end of the sequel’s predecessor, Ready or Not, saw Samara Weaving in a last-woman-standing situation after she survived the night and outlived her pursuers, aka her newly sanctioned in-laws.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been in the news quite a bit lately for her new projects like the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot in development and promoting her upcoming Lifetime movie Pretty Hurts (which actually reunites her with Buffy star Alyson Hannigan!). But while discussing her latest film, the actress revealed the one franchise she'd love to return to and hasn't had the chance to yet: Scream.
Chatting with Entertainment Tonight, the actress revealed that she kept waiting for the producers of Scream 7 to give her a call and bring her back.
"I tried to get in Scream, nobody wanted me."
The interview points out that her character, Cici Cooper, was killed by Ghostface in Scream 2. But, to be fair, Gellar reminds him that they're bringing back several actors whose characters died in previous films, like Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and Scott Foley.
It's funny that Gellar mentions...

Despite not returning for the hotly anticipated followup to slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sarah Michelle Gellar knows more about the sequel than her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., who reprises his original role in the film.
