Dimitra Kolla
Demetra Kolla was born on February 23rd in Athens, Greece. From an early age she found her calling in Acting and she pursued a career after following extensive studies and seminars in various schools around the globe. She has a BA in Performing Arts from Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh, studied acting at the Metropolitan College/Academy of Arts in Athens and the Beverly Hills Playhouse in L.A. She also attended Workshops and acting seminars at the East 15 and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the UK. Demetra combined her love of acting, dancing and singing by taking Russian style ballet lessons at the M. Michailidou Dance School, the Academy of Dance N. Kontaksaki and as a member of the H. A. Kollas Byzantine Choir. She has starred in various plays on stage, including The House of Bernarda Alba, All That Blood, Elizadeth, The Lesson, Dona Rosita and Black Comedy to name a few. She acted as one of the hundred brides shipped in New York in the 2004 film "Brides", directed by Pantelis Voulgaris, that received critical acclaim and she is also known from her work on various popular TV shows like Litsa.com, Ergazomeni Gynaika, and Big Bang. Eager to learn her craft, in front and behind the scene, Demetra has also acted as an assistant director on stage. She has worked for D. Karatzias plays, "Pnigmoni" that was based on F. G. Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba and "Elizadeth". She has also worked with N. Mixas for the musical show Greek Composers: A Century of Music. She performed at the Open and Closing ceremony for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Through her acting, Demetra is an active volunteer, being a part of the Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders, and an acting coach for the interactive performance Tunnel of Oppression that highlights contemporary issues of oppression. Ever the restless spirit, Demetra has also performed as a singer in various plays, in films and fashion shows.
