Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft showrunner Tasha Huo has hinted at sharks in need of punching ahead of the hit series' second season, which has now been officially confirmed by Netflix.

Per Netflix, Huo recently discussed Lara's journey in the upcoming second season of the animated series, which "Thematically, is about Lara embracing how her dad dealt with grief, which was isolating," she told Tudum. "When we meet Lara, she's very isolated As we get into Season 2, we're trying to build Lara's team over the course of the show, so she goes from isolated hero, who only wants to do things on her own a lone wolf to realizing, 'Actually, I have this really cool team behind me.'"

Netflix is plotting a new set of adventures for its version of Lara Croft.

The streamer has renewed its animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft for a second season. The pickup was a relatively quick one, coming just two weeks after the eight-episode first season premiered.

Based on the long-running Tomb Raider video game franchise, The Legend of Lara Croft follows the adventurer (voiced by Hayley Atwell) after the events of Square Enix’s video game reboot trilogy. The show aims to fill in a gap in Croft’s story between the reboot trilogy (which served as something of an origin story for the character) and the original games.

Season two, per Netflix, will find Lara discovering a trail of stolen African Orisha masks. “She joins forces with her best friend Sam (voiced by Karen Fukuhara in season one) to retrieve the precious artifacts,” the logline reads.

The animated series “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

The news comes roughly two weeks after the series premiered on Oct. 10. The first season consisted of eight episodes. Hayley Atwell provides the voice of Lara Croft. The show received mostly positive reviews from critics upon its release, with Season 1 holding a 73% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The official logline for Season 2 states:

About the Film

Brilliant in every way, from the cinematography to the superb direction by Oliver Hermanus, who manages to transfer Kurosawa’s original film to an English setting – a challenge for any director.

It draws on and adopts from the original and is totally faithful to it, in addition to providing – and, above all, counting on – an exceptional actor in what is probably the role of his life. Billy Nighty is magnificent in a film that, once seen, could not exist without him.

That Dirty Black Bag premiered on AMC+ on March 10, 2022, and ran until with a season of eight episodes. July 26, 2022, marks the release of Season 1 on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Mauro Aragoni, Silvia Ebruel, and Marcello Izzo have created a faithful homage to the Spaghetti Westerns of Sergio Leone.

Though it will no doubt draw comparisons to Deadwood (that other popular Western television series), tonally, they feel very different.

That Dirty Black Bag borrows as much from the gore/horror genre as any type of Western -- spaghetti, revisionist, or otherwise.

An underlying plot centers around a mysterious cult that requires human sacrifice, with one such devotee having a literal mountain of skulls in his backyard.

Brian O'Malley and Mauro Aragoni take turns directing each of the season's eight episodes with craftsmanlike attention to detail, but the most magnificent work comes courtesy of cinematographer P.J. Dillon.

It's all there in the title: someone's going to die when a show is called Four Weddings and a Funeral. Hulu's adaptation of the classic 1994 British rom-com spreads out its storylines over the course of 10 episodes, rather than a single two-hour movie, but the premise and format of the title remain the same. So who's the unlucky character in this iteration?

Four episodes in, we find out. The "funeral" in the title is for Quentin (Tom Mison), the perpetually drunk husband of posh ice queen Gemma (Zoe Boyle). Although none of the characters are exact replicas of those in the original film - in fact, it's surprisingly difficult to draw any sort of real character parallels between the original cast and this crew of characters - Quentin's death is definitely a shout-out to the storyline of the original.

What makes romantic comedies successful?

The outline of a meet-cute moment, a sudden realization that the potential couple cannot be together, a sweeping grand gesture, and a moving speech proving their love true while rendering the obstacle bunk generally delivers the goods.

The whole shebang also has to feel accessible to viewers even when it's otherwise far-fetched, and that's notably done through characters so well-written they appeal to a little piece of everyone.

Inserting yourself into the story is crucial; after all, what fun is it if you can't imagine yourself playing one of the parts?

Hulu previewed its revamped version of rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral with a breezy, snarky first trailer. Mindy Kaling and writer Matt Warburton (Community, The Mindy Project) co-wrote the pilot for the upcoming miniseries based on the 1994 film of the same name starring Hugh Grant.

The clip follows Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel), a political communications director from New York who flies to London for a friend’s wedding. There, she reconnects with three old friends and becomes entangled in their personal crises — from reignited love affairs to social and political scandals.

Four Weddings and a Funeral is coming to Hulu later this month, and it looks like a charming dramedy that is sure to be a hit.

The series is an anthology drama, with the first season spanning ten episodes.

Mindy Kaling wrote Hulu’s miniseries adaptation of Four Weddings and A Funeral, premiering on the streaming service this summer. Kaling was in a Conversation With Nancy Meyers at the Produced By Conference, and Meyers asked Kaling about her adaptation.

Kaling may be the biggest fan of the movie directed by Mike Newell and written by Richard Curtis. It was her admiration for the film that made her create an entirely different adaptation.

One of the glorious, and horrifying, things about the current television landscape is just how much there is of it, with plenty of series slipping by unnoticed. And there may be no clearer evidence than “Frontier” starring Jason Momoa, the once and future Aquaman, a Netflix period drama that just released its third season.

A compelling period drama with the edge of “Game of Thrones” and a unique angle on history, “Frontier” is set in the late 18th century, miles away from colonial America, as the battle for control over the territories and the Canadian fur trade is just one of the forces guiding the violent nature of life in the wilderness.
