James Gunn Teases Nathan Fillion As Guy Gardner In Superman & Reveals His Favorite Green Lantern
Image
With Superman debuting in July, audiences are about to meet the first of several DC Universe Green Lanterns. Played by Nathan Fillion, this Green Lantern is Guy Gardner, arguably the cockiest, most brash of the bunch. Guy is poised to be at odds with Superman/Clark Kent (David Corenswet) regarding heroics, and he will also come face to face with the title character in Peacemaker season two. In addition to Guy, the Dcu is also introducing Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan in HBO's Lanterns.

In an appearance on the DC Studios Showcasepodcast, Gunn dished on his plans for the Dcu and specifically the Green Lantern Corps. Coy Jandreau, the show's comic correspondent, took this opportunity to ask about one member who hasn't been announced or cast yet: Kyle Rayner. Gunn addressed the request cautiously, quipping: "I've been online enough to know that everybody has...

“A great horror movie”: James Gunn’s Most Unplanned “rated R” Dcu Project Will Have AI Connections
Image
James Gunn is on a mission to reset the Dcu for good, and something is cooking for everyone. With Superman’s upcoming release, Gunn has recently opened up on some of the future projects, and one of them turned out to be something fans did not see coming.

Fans might want to sit down for a minute for this, because DC is going all horror soon, with Clayface. Yes! As per Gunn’s recent update on the project, the film will be a body horror and will be “rated R.”

What’s even wilder? The film might have something to do with AI and deep fake. This revelation during his recent interview has left the internet divided. While some are all for the idea, the rest are disappointed. Nevertheless, DC and body horror? This is a win-win!

James Gunn & Mike Flanagan: Dcu’s horror dream team? Mike Flanagan in...

James Gunn Just Made Superman Poor—And the Internet Is Freaking Out
Image
Is Superman poor now? That’s the burning question some fans are asking after James Gunn revealed Clark Kent’s new childhood home in the upcoming Superman movie. And honestly, it’s got people divided—like Batman v Superman all over again, but this time over a farm. It all started when DC Studios Showcase hosts Frankey Smith, Tyler Coates, and Coy Jandreau were chatting on the official podcast about Clark’s childhood. Coates and Jandreau argued the Kents were poor—farmers barely making ends meet. Smith, who grew up in New York City, disagreed, saying, “I always thought he was middle class.” They backed it up with logic: the Kents owned land, had equipment, and managed to hold on to a house. Still not convinced, they took the debate to Threads and tagged Gunn directly: “Is Superman poor? I always thought he was middle class, but [Coy Jandreau] and [Tyler Coates] are saying I’m bugging.

Sebastian Stan Channeled Clint Eastwood in ‘Unforgiven’ For ‘Thunderbolts*’: “The Older Guy That’s Been There, Done That”
Image
Thunderbolts* touched down in Los Angeles on Monday night, with stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hannah John-Kamen and Lewis Pullman debuting the latest Marvel project.

The film follows an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker — as they come together for a dangerous mission, and is earning strong reviews following a rocky period for the MCU over the past few years.

On the red carpet, Stan told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s always funny when there’s that dynamic with people like these characters, right, because technically are they villains? Are they heroes or not, where do they stand? It’s what [his character] Bucky Barnes is essentially, he’s always been trying to figure it out and they are too.”

Stan has played the role for nearly 15 years, appearing in a host of Marvel projects including the Captain America films,...

The Gorge Can Change Miles Teller’s Future After Tom Cruise Made Glen Powell a Superstar With Top Gun 2
Image
The world of Hollywood is unpredictable in its own unique way, and so forging a path in this land is not a job for everyone. This couldn’t hold more true than in the case of two of Tom Cruise’s ‘prodigies,’ Glen Powell and Miles Teller. Both actors appeared in the highly successful Top Gun 2, receiving an immense boost to their careers.

Hangman (Glen Powell) and Rooster (Miles Teller) in Top Gun: Maverick | Paramount Pictures

While Powell has been riding high on the success of the film and has mapped out a brilliant career for himself, the same cannot be said for Teller. However, this can change with his latest film. Starring in the horror thriller The Gorge alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Teller can finally get to use some of his Top Gun 2 fame and follow in the footsteps of his co-star Glen Powell.

Nathalie Emmanuel Joins Rosario Dawson, Tony Revolori in ‘Ghosts of Ruin’ Voice Cast
Image
Nathalie Emmanuel is the latest star to join the voice cast of the immersive animated series “Ghosts of Ruin.”

The announcement that the “Game of Thrones” and “Fast and Furious” franchise costar would bring her voice talents to the new series was made during the “Ghosts of Ruin” Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.

“Literally, I’m emailing the agents right now in this panel,” executive producer Michael Ramey quipped, underscoring just how “real time” the news had developed.

In May, Variety exclusively revealed that Rosario Dawson and Tony Revolori had joined the cast of the animated series, which follows a group of gamers as they compete in the first-ever neural reality battle royale game, named “Ruin.” However, a malicious virus appears and transforms their utopia into hell.

Emmanuel will voice Dr. Angela Tucci, who Stippec teases is “a very monumental, pivotal character in the run of the show.

Sony’s Gran Turismo Earns Early Praise from Critics
Image
Sony has been on a streak, steering its momentum into the cinematic world. Sony’s next pit stop? Transforming Gran Turismo, their flagship racing franchise boasting sales north of 90 million units globally, into a full-fledged film adaptation.

This ambitious project rides the wave of Sony's other successful ventures into this new realm, which include the Uncharted movie and the hit HBO series The Last of Us. The initial reactions to the Gran Turismo movie are trickling in, as the movie gears up for an August 11 release. Many critics and media pundits are impressed with this unconventional take on video game adaptation.

The movie does not borrow its narrative from the games, which are primarily known for their immersive racing experience and not necessarily their storytelling. Instead, director Neil Blomkamp, who brought us the dystopian hit Elysium, devised a plot from a real-life fairy tale - the story of Jann Mardenborough.

Across the Spider-Verse: YouTuber Breaks Down the Surprising Brilliance of [Spoiler]'s Cameo
Image
The following contains major spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, in cinemas now.

YouTuber Coy Jandreau just walked Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse fans through exactly what makes Donald Glover's cameo in the animated blockbuster so brilliant.

Jandreau broke down Glover's personal history with the Spider-Man franchise in a video shared on Instagram. In a rapid-fire monologue, he covered everything from Glover's unsuccessful 2010 campaign to be cast as the next live-action Spider-Man and how it influenced Miles Morales' co-creator Brian Michael Bendis to develop the character, to Glover voicing Miles in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series and starring as Miles' uncle Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Jandreau also theorized that Glover's Across the Spider-Verse cameo as Davis' villainous alter-ego The Prowler may foreshadow the plot and themes of that film's sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Ufc Fans Compare Dana White's Private Island Fight Plan to Mortal Kombat
Dana White in The Mindy Project (2012)
Thanks to the ongoing global situation, everything in the world of entertainment has come to almost a complete standstill, including sports. Well, Ufc president Dana White is not too happy about that and has been trying for weeks to move forward with scheduled Ufc events despite the current circumstances.

Earlier this week, he claimed to have a new plan which some might consider to be a tad extreme. Dana White wants to secure a private island and then fly out fighters and host Ufc events on a weekly basis. Well, some fans have seen some similarities between the Ufc president's scheme to buy a private island and host a fighting tournament and several video game plots that contain, well, exactly that same scheme. With that in mind, fans were quick to point that out online, saying that White is turning into Mortal Kombat villain Shang Tsung.

"Dana White setting up...

Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Robert Pattinson, and Zoë Kravitz in The Batman (2022)
Do Batfans Love or Hate the New Batmobile in The Batman?
Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Robert Pattinson, and Zoë Kravitz in The Batman (2022)
The few glimpses we have now gotten of director Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman are painting a very pretty picture indeed. Following the reveal of the top half of the Batsuit a few weeks ago, yesterday Reeves revealed our first official look at the Batmobile that will be used by Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight to get around the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City. The images are striking, with the Batmobile looking like a souped-up muscle car whilst still paying homage to the Golden Age version of the superheroes' iconic set of wheels.

Well, fans have now taken to social media to heap praise on the newest addition to the Batmobile roster as we'll see in The Batman, with a lot them loving the slightly different root that the design has taken.

"Digging that #Batmobile from #TheBatman a lot. Love the scaled-back, yet souped-up look. Sleek, sexy, cool and fitting...

An McU Deadpool Announcement Could Be Here Any Day Now
Disney’s takeover of Fox that saw Marvel Studios finally obtain the rights to the Fantastic Four and the X-Men may have happened months ago, but there’s been little in the way of official news about how far away the characters are from making their way back to the big screen as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in recent days there has been a lot of information coming out concerning Deadpool, with the latest rumors indicating that an announcement regarding the Merc with a Mouth is imminent.

Ryan Reynolds kicked off the speculation by posting a picture of himself at Marvel Studios HQ, making it highly likely that he’s been meeting with Kevin Feige about Deadpool 3. Then, franchise writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick made their first public comments about Deadpool’s involvement in the McU in interviews to promote Zombieland: Double Tap, before we...
