The Most Popular Matrix Theory Never Really Made Sense (& It Was Fortunately Debunked)
Image
The "Matrix within a Matrix" theory, while popular, goes against the established narrative of the Matrix films and undermines the significance of Neo's story. The theory may answer some unanswered questions, but it creates more problems and lacks substance, similar to "everything was a dream" theories. While the theory gained popularity due to the open-ended nature of the Matrix trilogy, the recent release of The Matrix Resurrections all but debunked it.

The Matrix franchise is one of the most popular and influential works of science fiction of its era, but the most popular fan theory it sparked never really made much sense. The best sci-fi movies of all time are the ones that can be revisited and reinterpreted multiple times. This applies to The Matrix and its sequels, whose complex story has fueled countless theories since 1999, including the timeless “Matrix within a Matrix.”

The “Matrix within a Matrix” theory states...

Back in the late 1990s, the Wachowskis launched one of the most popular, engaging, and thought-provoking movie trilogies of all time, the Matrix trilogy. The first Matrix movie was a sci-fi adventure that challenged viewers to question everything about reality, artificial intelligence, and the meaning of human life. It was an intellectually stimulating movie, and the two sequels were often like that,...

How The Matrix Trilogy Embraces Sci-Fi Clichés
Image
After all this time, the original Matrix movie trilogy, directed by the Wachowskis, remains a staple of modern science fiction and cyberpunk cinema. Sci-fi and action fans can't get enough of that trilogy's stellar soundtrack, deep themes, eye-popping action sequences, and profound questions about the nature of reality and human destiny. Even if The Matrix and its successors are riddled with cliches, it's a sci-fi tale for the ages.

Looking back, the original three Matrix movies embody almost every sci-fi and cyberpunk cliche and trope there is, but those movies use such familiar ideas to their advantage. The Matrix movies are proud to be flamboyant sci-fi adventures that boldly ask all the big questions while using every high-tech trick in the book to create memorable action sequences to keep viewers engaged. This trilogy helped refresh some cliches and helped invent others, and fans love it all.

Nick Cannon Dances to a Mariah Carey Song With Monroe and Moroccan: "Shout Out to Mommy!"
Image
Even Mariah Carey's ex can't help but jam out to her classic hits. On June 30, Nick Cannon shared a TikTok featuring his and Carey's twins, 12-year-old Monroe and Moroccan, teaching him the dance moves to "Touch My Body." He captioned the video, "Only Right!! Shout out to Mommy!!! The Empress Queen of all Queens!"

In the TikTok, Cannon watches his daughter Monroe show him the steps before joining in the fun. At first, he goes the dad route of being silly (and almost loses his sweatpants), but he soon falls into step with his daughter. Meanwhile, Moroccan joins his dad as his twin's backup dancer.

Monroe and Moroccan are Cannon's eldest children. The "Wild 'N Out" host also shares Golden, Rise, and Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell, twins Zion and Zillion and Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa, and Legendary Love with "Selling Sunset" star Bre Tiesi.

Bre Tiesi On Her And Nick Cannon’s Unconventional Relationship And Possibly Having More Kids
Image
Bre Tiesi isn’t totally ruling out more children.

Et’s Kevin Frazier spoke to the Selling Sunset star at her and Nick Cannon‘s son, Legendary Love’s, first birthday party over the weekend, where Tiesi opened up about their unconventional relationship and the possibility of welcoming another child with the longtime TV personality.

“So, here’s the thing that I know everyone wants to argue with me about — but he makes his own schedule. He can show up every day, when he stops from work. He can come at night. So, he’s here every week, and especially when he’s home, he’s here,” Tiesi said. “So, it’s not a set schedule, we don’t have to plan things, but he’s very present and he’s at anything and everything I ask him to be at. So, I’m very happy. He’s very supportive.

9 Matrix Characters Who Escaped The Simulation By Themselves
Image
Several Matrix characters escaped the simulation by themselves, as in without external help like Keanu Reeves’ Neo received. While Thomas Anderson could feel that there was something wrong with reality, it was only thanks to Morpheus and his crew that Neo woke up from the Matrix. Neo was offered a choice between the Blue Pill and the Red Pill, the latter of which worked as a tracking program. Neo was just one of many people Morpheus and the humans from Zion helped escape from the Matrix.

The process through which a person wakes up from the Matrix without external help is known as self-substantiation. No case of self-substantiation happens on-screen in any of the Matrix movies, yet the expanded Matrix universe has many examples of it. Here is a breakdown of every Matrix character who escaped the simulation by themselves.

The First “The One”

In The Matrix, Morpheus tells Neo...

Nick Cannon Says Daughter Onyx Is "Probably the Child That I Spend the Most Time With"
Image
Nick Cannon is getting candid about how he coparents his children. During a recent episode of "The Jason Lee Podcast," the dad of 12 revealed that he spends more time with his 8-month-old daughter, Onyx, than he does with the rest of his kids. That's thanks in part to the coparenting arrangement he has with Onyx's mom, Lanisha Cole.

Onyx is "probably the child that I spend the most time with," Cannon revealed on the podcast. He continued, "I'm with her at least three times a week, for the full day. But I don't put that out there in the media, social media, [because] it's not for them. But you know, Lanisha [Cole] and I have a super-strong understandin,g and our coparenting operation is so solid."

Baby Onyx is the only child "The Masked Singer" host shares with Cole. He's also dad to Mariah Carey's 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe; 6-year-old Golden,...

Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry in Ginny & Georgia (2021)
Netflix Renews ‘Ginny & Georgia’ for 2 More Seasons With New Showrunner
Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry in Ginny & Georgia (2021)
Netflix has renewed drama series “Ginny & Georgia” for two more seasons, naming a new showrunner to helm the next installments.

Debra J. Fisher oversaw the first two seasons of the show, which landed on Netflix in January 2021 and December 2022, respectively. The third and fourth seasons will be overseen by former “Degrassi” producer Sarah Glinski.

Glinski’s appointment took place before the Writers Guild of America went on strike.

Last we saw the dynamic mother-daughter duo, Georgia (Brianne Howey) married Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter) in a dreamy wedding ceremony, but the cops interrupted the nuptials by arresting her for the murder of Tom Fuller. Private investigator Gabriel Cordova (Alex Mallari Jr.) finally found proof of Georgia’s past criminal activity as he has been tailing her for two seasons. Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Austin (Diesel La Torraca) watch her drive away in the back of a police car with...

Ginny & Georgia: Here's What Happened To Every One of Georgia's Lovers
Image
One of the focal points of Netflix's Ginny & Georgia is the mysterious past of Georgia Miller, the 30-something single mother of two — here's what happened to each of Georgia's lovers. While at first, she appears as a ditzy woman who has been unlucky in love, she is revealed to be a calculating, manipulative woman capable of heinous crimes and murder. She proves through her checkered past that the safety of her children from abusers is priority number one, and this often results in some truly dastardly and unexpected crimes from the young single mother.

Georgia's past relationships have determined her life so far. She's used them to avoid criminal punishment, further her career, and financially support the lives of her young children. It's hard to say whether or not Georgia would ever put herself first in a romantic relationship, as she usually has the best interest of parenting her...

Ginny & Georgia: Which Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?
Image
The Ginny and Georgia characters represent a range of personalities, and as such, a range of zodiac signs. One of the best TV shows on Netflix, Ginny and Georgia follows a young mother (Georgia) and her 15-year-old daughter (Ginny) as the two try to forge a relationship after Georgia's husband passes away. Determined to get a fresh start, the Miller family (including Georgia's young son Austin) move to the fictional Wellsbury, Massachusettes. Between Georgia's relationship with mayor Paul Randolph and Ginny's troubles at school, it's clear that the series lays it on heavy with drama.

Ginny and Georgia characters are nothing if not lovable, despite the questionable choices they make. Audiences clearly felt the same, as the show was renewed for season 2 by Netflix a little less than two months after the season 1 premiere. Ginny and Georgia season 3 has yet to be confirmed, but news should drop sooner rather than later,...

Nick Cannon Shares Advice For New Dads, Reveals What Kind Of A Parent He Is To His 12 Kids
Image
Nick Cannon had a few things to say when asked for parenting advice while chatting to Et Canada’s Jed Tavernier.

The father of 12 was asked what kind of a dad he is during his upcoming “One-on-One” special, admitting: “Definitely a disciplinarian, but it’s all out of respect and love. I constantly let my children know how much I love them.

“And I’m a big kid! So I’m probably the cool dad because I’m probably more mischievous and, you know, probably just as wild as they are. But I’m definitely the stern parent.”

Tavernier then questioned whether he had any advice for new dads or anyone wanting to become a parent, to which he replied, “Make sure your partner is on the same frequency as you. Especially in a co-parenting situation, you want to be aligned… similar values, similar ideas on how to raise a child.

Matrix Reloaded's Spinoff Experiment Ruined Jada Pinkett Smith's Character
Image
The Matrix Reloaded was part of a larger transmedia experiment that had the unfortunate effect of diminishing Jada Pinkett Smith's role. The original Matrix was such a pop culture-defining success that sequels were all but a certainty. What fans of the original couldn't have anticipated is just how divisive those follow-ups would be. Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions were both released in 2003 and while though boasted cutting-edge special effects and impressive action, they were also littered with ponderous dialogue, choppy plotting and anti-climatic endings. The sequels may not have fully delivered on expectations, but if nothing else, their ambition can be admired.

Sadly, the Matrix movies weren't much of a showcase of Jada Pinkett Smith either. Despite being hyped as a major new character and love interest for Laurence Fishburne's Morpheus, Smith's Niobe is largely offscreen for large chunks of both films. Niobe gets a slightly larger role in...
