Outer Range Season 2 TV Review
Image
Plot: The mystery surrounding the enigmatic void on the west pasture of the Abbott family ranch deepens as Royal and his wife Cecelia struggle to keep their family together in the aftermath of their granddaughter’s sudden disappearance. The stakes have never been higher for the Abbotts, who now face threats on multiple fronts with profound and unforeseen circumstances that could shake the very foundations of time itself.

Review: With so many shows on television and streaming platforms, it can be nearly impossible to distinguish yourself from the pack. While Outer Range may be a complex blend of genres, the first season was unlike anything else. Blending elements of everything from Yellowstone to Arrival and The Twilight Zone, Outer Range ended its first season with some substantial cliffhangers, while the second season wastes no time diving right into the murky complexity of this story of multiverses, parallel timelines and so much more.

Each of the six women writers in the room marked their first major sale following the workshop, all in the action or genre arena and all with commitments for distribution. The six writers include Sue Chung, Charmaine DeGraté, Eileen Jones, Faith Liu, Dagny Looper, and Maria Sten. .

Margot Robbie & Christina Hodson Launch Action Movie Writing Program
Kayti Burt Nov 5, 2019

The program is aimed at developing the original action movie pitches and scripts of women writers.

Creating systemic change in Hollywood takes intentional, sustained action—and putting the money where the mouth is. That's exactly what Birds of Prey co-workers Margot Robbie and screenwriter Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) are doing with the Lucky Exports Pitch Program, a new writing program aimed at increasing the number of women writing action-driven movies.

According to THR, the Lucly Exports Pitch Program—named after Robbie and Hodson's respective companies (LuckyChap Entertainment and Hodson Exports)— has selected six women to participate in a four-week program that will give them a chance to break, outline, and develope their original action film ideas into studio ready pitches. The end goal? To "bring the writers the exposure and experience they need in order to become go-to names for studio/franchise jobs."
