Melissa Leilani Larson is an award-winning writer known for Jane and Emma (2018) and Freetown (2015) (2015 Ghana Movie Award for Best Screenplay, 2015 Utah Movie Award for Best Picture), and the short film "Patience". Plays include "The Post Office", "Gin Mummy," "Pride and Prejudice", "A Form of Flattery," "Little Happy Secrets", "Sweetheart, Come", "Mestiza, or Mixed", "Mountain Law", "The Edible Complex", "Pilot Program", "Persuasion", and "Martyrs' Crossing", among others. She is a 46th Bay Area Playwrights Festival Honorable Mention finalist, the 2018 Smith-Pettit Foundation Award recipient, and a 2016 O'Neill semifinalist. MFA, Iowa Playwrights Workshop.
