The Hollywood community is in mourning once again, after news broke earlier today that Anton Yelchin has died from a freak car accident. The actor was found dead at his home in the San Fernando Valley early this morning, pinned between his car and a concrete mailbox. As news of this tragic death started to spread, several of the actor's co-stars, friends, colleagues and others in the Hollywood community mourned his death on social media. Paramount Pictures also released the following statement regarding the beloved actor's death.

"All of us at Paramount join the world in morning the untimely passing of Antony Yelchin. As a member of the Star Trek family, he was beloved by so many and he will missed by all. We share our deepest condolences with his mother, father and family."

Fans, colleagues and friends have paid tribute to James Horner, who died in a plane crash on Monday (June 22) at the age of 61.

The composer was best known for his Oscar-winning work on Titanic, as well as providing the scores for other major films like Apollo 13, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Jumanji and Avatar.

So, remember Tom Shadyac? He's the guy who was at one time a box office comedy titan, thanks to "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," "The Nutty Professor," "Liar Liar" and "Bruce Almighty." But then he decided after making millions upon millions of dollars that there was more to life and made a documentary. "I Am"was a lot of feel good, New Age-y mumbo jumbo, that found him talking with folks like David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Lynne McTaggart, Ray Anderson, John Francis, Coleman Barks, and Marc Ian Barasch about like the world, man. That was a couple of years ago, and while he briefly popped up as a contender to direct a remake of Arthur Lubin's 1964 film "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" that had Zach Galifianakis attached to star, it didn't happen. I have to admit that the second episode of season 6 was a little underwhelming compared to the stellar premiere. Still, have I mentioned I freaking love this show? In case you missed the memo, I do. Tom Shadyac’s documentary I Am will kick off Own: Oprah Winfrey Network’s Super Soul Sunday programming block on January 1, 2012. Onetime hit feature director Shadyac’s life took quite a turn after he suffered a concussion in a cycling accident that left him unable to work for months. The director of Liar Liar, The Nutty Professor and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective underwent a profound transformation that he chronicles in the movie. I Am follows Shadyac’s quest to answer two questions: “What’s wrong with the world” and “What can we do about it?”. He interviews notable men and women from the worlds of science, philosophy, academia and faith — including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Lynne McTaggart, Ray Anderson, John Francis, Coleman Barks and Marc Ian Barasch. Oprah Winfrey’s separate interview with Shadyac introduces the documentary. Super Soul Sunday airs 8-11 Am with an encore beginning at noon.

Though I'm not a religious scholar - the phrase "godless heathen" is often more appropriate - I am aware that one doesn't want to find themselves stuck on Earth during the Rapture. For those that don't know, the Rapture is the period of time in which those that have led good, Christian lives ascend to heaven while everyone else sticks around to watch the apocalypse. Apparently some have found the humor in it, however, as Craig Robinson was recently cast as the Antichrist in a movie called Rapture-Palooza, and now he is close to getting two co-stars. THR reports that Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley are now in talks for the religious comedy. Written by Chris Matheson, the film is about a couple named Ben and Lindsey who are trying to live in the post-apocalyptic world operating a sandwich cart business. He had already moved out of his mansion and into a Malibu trailer park, given up his car in favor of his bike and, in general, renounced his Hollywood lifestyle in a quest to get at the essence of what brings inner peace. Now he was determined to share his story with the world. The result of this soul-searching is his personal documentary “I Am,” a well-meaning metaphysical inquiry that hits all the right sentiments but manages precious little substance.
