Omar Boflot

IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Boflot is a half Egyptian half Filipino rapper. He started rapping in 1995 in night clubs in Ghana and then joined a band called "Patty Riddaz", which means party riders. The band was unique to the Ghana community as it consisted of two Ghana rappers and one Egyptian rapper. Patty Riddaz performed on a weekly show called "fun world" and were aired every fortnight on Ghana TV. Boflot continued with the Patty Riddaz until he returned to Egypt in 1998. He eventually met Yassin Zahran, a half Egyptian half Algerian rapper, who like Boflot rapped in French and English. They developed a close friendship and in 2001 they decided to rap in Arabic. As a result they formed the group Y-Crew. Boflot explained how he then "thought of rap as a career. People were interested in hearing rap in a language they understand. So this helped us move fast." Boflot's musical lyrics are based on "what we feel," he said. He tries to address issues on behalf of the people of the Arab world. The support of Boflot's family, friends and especially Hip HopNa Hosts Fredwreck and Qusai pushed him to follow this path and keep pursuing his dream which is to one day become a renowned producer. Currently, Boflot is building his underground studio and working on his TV show "Make it Happen." Information about that is still to be announced. He is also working on tracks with artists from the middle east and international artists. Born in Nigeria then moved from here to there and so on and stopped in Ghana in 1993. That was when Omar Boflot joined an underground band called Patty Riddaz which meant "Party Riders". Omar got the roots of true Hip Hop to the fullest until one day had to leave for Egypt suddenly. It was then he met Yassin "9mm" aka "alien X" 1998 and formed a band who loved to to rap for no reason (runs both in their blood), at that time there was no such thing as Arabic rap so the boys used English and French to rap for fun. In no time Yassin and Omar Decided to changed the band name and language of the rap lyrics so that their MSG could be in a whole new level, they called themselves Y crew and rapped about interesting topics that got the attention of the fans.
