Born in Brentwood, New York, American actor and film producer Chris Grant Wenchell began his creative journey on Long Island, where he spent his youth playing soccer, basketball, and performing music. A multi-talented artist, he picked up the saxophone at age 8, later mastering trumpet through high school. After graduating from Eastport High School, Wenchell studied computer animation at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he created animated short films-his first steps toward a lifelong passion for storytelling.
Driven by a fascination with cinema, he began formal acting training in New York City at the esteemed Maggie Flanigan Studio, mastering the Meisner Technique under a program known for its high artistic standards. He later continued under award-winning writer/director Robert McAndrew at the Bob McAndrew Studio.
Chris Grant Wenchell launched his career in indie films and commercials in NYC before relocating to Los Angeles, where he has starred in numerous independent films and television series. His credits include the sci-fi TV series Olympia (2012), from writer/directors Hisonni Mustafa and Michael Sarnoski, where he portrayed a sinister college student with supernatural powers. In Charlie and Jimmy (2012), written and directed by Kevin Camonayan, Wenchell took on the role of a disturbed older brother entangled in a dark kidnapping plot.
Other notable roles include a sketch artist in the psychological thriller Writers Block, Painting with the Devil (2018) (dir. Lance Sadia), and a "Cowboy Cop" in The Son Rises (2022) (dir. Alexander G. Seyum), a powerful film exploring justice in the wake of police shootings. The Son Rises received 4 wins and 4 nominations on the film festival circuit. Most recently, he starred as a Tactical Action Officer in Meg Rising (2021), from The Asylum (dir.Brian Nowak), leading a battle against monstrous sharks aboard a Navy ship.
