Mumbai, Feb 18 (Ians) Actress Pranati Rai Prakash has been roped in to play a negative role in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming web series Blackwoods.

"I'll be playing a negative shade for the first time. She's spicy, fiery, dramatic, and spoilt. That's how I can define my next character. I'm very excited to take on another journey," said Pranati, who is known for her roles in the TV show Mannphodganj Ki Binny and the film Family Of Thakurganj.

According to the sources, Nakul Sahdev, Kanikka Kapur, Vidushi Mehra will be also seen alongside Pranati Rai Prakash in Blackwoods.

The shoot of the show is expected to start in March. Blackwoods will be directed by Abhijit Das and produced by Ekta Kapoor.

The poster and trailer of Moh Maya Money was launched amidst much fanfare last week, setting social media abuzz with Bollywood celebs like Arjun Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Ayushmann Khurrana, Harshvardhan Kapoor among many others raving about its good old-fashioned thriller vibe. Moh Maya Money is a story about Aman (Ranvir Shorey), who is a real estate broker working in a multinational. Aman often skims money from his company for the want of a better life. His greed leads him to a series of unfortunate events which snowball beyond his control putting his and his wife Divya (Neha Dhupia)’s life in jeopardy. As a solution to the fix he finds himself in, he gets desperate enough to involve his begrudging wife in a white collar crime which entangles completely innocent strangers in it, leading to an end neither could imagine.

The New York Indian Film Festival (Nyiff) announced the full lineup last night for their 16th year of celebrating independent, art house, alternate, and diaspora films from/about/connected to the Indian subcontinent (May 7 – May 14). Dedicated to bringing these films to a New York audience, the festival will feature 40 screenings (35 narrative, 5 documentary) –all seen for the first time in New York City. In addition, the festival will also feature five programs of short films.

The festival highlights various cinemas of India’s different regions. All the films are subtitled in English and some of the languages this year include Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telegu, Assamese, Haryanavi and Urdu. This year’s festival will feature a couple of sidebars –Nfdc restored first films of filmmakers and a three-generations sidebar, films of Bimal Roy, Basu Bhattacharya and Aditya Bhattacharya.
