Lucio Mollica is an award-winning documentary director and producer. Lucio graduated in Media Studies in Bologna and before joining the Berlin based LOOKSfilm, he worked for MTV in Milan, for Northern Light Production in Boston, for Zero Point Zero in New York and for GA&A Productions in Rome. He wrote for newspapers and magazines ("Il Manifesto", "Left") and was a tutor for training initiatives (Ex Oriente, IDS Academy Series).
In the world of documentaries since 2006, Lucio produced, wrote and directed more than 20 documentaries and series, broadcast by some of the best channels internationally (PBS, ARTE, ARD, France Televisions, History Channel, SBS, Al Jazeera, RAI, SVT, VPRO, DR and others).
His most recent works include the 4-part series "Munich '72. Terror at the games", "Afghanistan. The Wounded Land" (Grimme Preis winner, 2021; Rose d'Or nominated), the 2-part series "A War on Trial" (Grimme Preis and DAfF nominated 2021) and the feature doc "I Want My Country Back" (Best Documentary, History Film Festival, 2021).
