Samuel Paul Haun is an award-winning Texas-based filmmaker, director, cinematographer, and screenwriter with nearly two decades of experience spanning narrative features, genre shorts, documentaries, music videos, and branded content. Known for his emotionally driven storytelling and bold visual style, Haun founded his production company in 2006 and has built a wide-ranging portfolio that reflects both technical mastery and deep creative intent.
His award-winning feature film directorial debut, Wicked Season, marked a turning point in his career-establishing his voice in the thriller genre with grounded tension and striking visual design.
His upcoming projects include the feature-length psychological horror anthology Where The Monster Lives, which he is directing and producing. A surreal and emotionally charged exploration of trauma and identity, the film blends grounded psychological horror with haunting visual metaphor. Also entering production is the short film When Opportunity Knocks, a tightly focused drama about grief, desperation, and the consequences of a single, irreversible choice. Haun directs from a script by Katie Hibbard-Smith, based on a story by Haun.
His cinematography work includes the military action-drama Warhorse One (2023), where he served as Director of Photography and Aerial Camera Operator. He was Second Unit Director and B Camera Operator on the action-horror feature Daylight's End (2016), and contributed as Camera Operator and Battle Scene Editor on the historical epic Washington's Armor (2022).
Haun's acclaimed short films-including Requital and One Last Call-showcase his ability to deliver intense atmosphere, emotionally grounded characters, and cinematic precision under tight production schedules. Across many of his works, he assumes multiple key roles, from directing and writing to cinematography and post-production, ensuring a cohesive and uncompromising creative vision.
He is in development on two original feature projects: the philosophical crime drama American Karma and the action-thriller-mystery Dead Man's Game, while actively moving Where The Monster Lives and When Opportunity Knocks into production.
