Final Destination 7 Officially In The Works — Bloodlines Co-Writer Lori Evans Taylor Will Return
Image
As the old adage goes, there are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and horror movie sequels. And following the critical and commercial success of Final Destination: Bloodlines earlier this year, the first film in the iconic horror franchise since 2011's Final Destination 5, producers New Line are certainly looking to do their bit to keep the death and sequels coming at least. Per THR's reporting, a seventh Final Destination movie is officially in the works at Warner Bros. as the studio looks to keep the cogs turning on cinema's ultimate Rube Goldberg machine of death.

As THR detail, the new — and as-yet-untitled — sequel is set to be written by Lori Evans Taylor, who co-wrote the $286 million grossing Bloodlines with Ready Or Not alum Guy Busick. Whether Busick will be back in any capacity remains to be seen at this stage, as does whether directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein...

$285M Supernatural Horror Movie Becomes Instant Streaming Hit
Image
Hollywood has been in turmoil since the Covid-19 pandemic first shook theaters, but horror movies have been a rare exception. While studios push to support sequels and adaptations as the only truly financially viable releases, new horror franchises have been thriving in theaters without any hint of faltering.

M3GAN (2022), Smile (2022), and MaXXXine (2024) all proved to be extremely successful releases that impressed critics and audiences alike. Even franchise-focused horror movies have been shockingly viable, as Alien: Romulus (2024), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), A Quiet Place Part II (2020), and Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023) proved to be some of the most profitable releases of the post-pandemic era.

As those releases prove, supernatural horror has been an especially compelling angle for Hollywood recently. While streaming has been cutting into theatrical takes, Five Nights at Freddy's released simultaneously on streaming and in theaters and still succeeded. Recently, another supernatural horror also thrived on both release platforms, despite staggering its debuts.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Panel Teases Big Scares But Not Reveals at Comic-Con
Image
There was a time at Comic-Con where an actor on a Hall H panel would say, “I read the comics when I was a kid,” when talking about the latest comic book adaptation.

In an underscoring how the culture is shifting, on a Thursday Hall H panel, an actor said, “I played the games when I was a kid.”

The line was uttered by actor Teo Briones (who is all of 20) at the Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s panel for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to the successful 2023 adaptation of the horror video game that was a surprise hit that grossed $291.4 million.

Video game adaptations have finally matured as a viable form for film and television in recent years, in both box office and critical acclaim. Fnaf 2 hopes to keep that going when it hits theaters in December. And in success, there would be a third one, producer...

'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' Sdcc Footage Teases One of the Games' Most Notorious Villains
Image
Although the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 trailer was released earlier today to showcase all the new horrors awaiting in the titular pizzeria, Blumhouse saved one sinister surprise for attendees at the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel tonight. In addition to Skeet Ulrich reuniting with his fellow Ghostface Matthew Lilliard in the sequel, there's another new animatronic set to make its debut in theaters this December. A new sneak peek was shared that highlighted the creepy Marionette, a haunting being that gamers will remember hiding in a music box that needed to be kept wound in Scott Cawthon's second installment in the horror video game franchise, lest bad things happen. Collider's Samantha Coley was in attendance to get a look at the frightful puppet and its purpose in the footage.

The new look opens with Mckenna Grace's paranormal investigator and her video crew being guided on a...

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Team Teases ‘Three Times as Many Animatronics,’ Including Fan-Favorites Mangle and the Marionette
Image
Freddy Fazbear brought the frights to San Diego Comic-Con during Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s Hall H panel for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” the sequel to the successful 2023 horror game adaptation.

The panel came hours after the film’s trailer was released, revealing the revenge plans of the first film’s murderous animatronic robots.

In a conversation moderated by Juju “Straw Hat Goofy” Green, director Emma Tammi (who also helmed the first film) teased that the upcoming movie features “more than three times as many animatronics” as the first film. She praised collaboration with the Jim Henson Company for the film’s robots, adding, “We we really wanted to make the electronics feel and move as practically as possibly, versus the CG route, which is also incredible, but it just didn’t feel right for the nostalgia that Freddy’s invokes. We met with the Henson team, and they totally got that.

New Trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Brings Us More Bite
Image
This morning, the official Blumhouse social media pages released a full trailer for the film Five Night's at Freddy's 2, a sequel to the 2023 adaptation of the popular game franchise Five Night's at Freddy's. This trailer was expected to be on the horizon with news earlier this month of the film having a presentation at San Diego Comic Con, which is currently ongoing this week. The trailer runs two minutes and twenty seconds and manages to pack in enough excitement to keep me interested.

The trailer brings us back to Freddy Fazbears Pizza... sort of, instead of showing us the restaraunt where the events of the last movie occured, we're introduced to an older "original" restaraunt with abandoned animatronics being investigated by an amateur group of paranormal investigators, who more than likely will get more than they bargained for when faced with the haunted animatronics. The film is an adaptation of...

The announcement marks a major horror icon reunion, as Ulrich and Lillard previously appeared alongside one another in Wes Craven’s 1996 feature, Scream — the movie that would start a franchise. As of right now, it isn’t clear which character Ulrich will be joining as, but perhaps we’ll find out more later today.

The big reveal comes after months of speculation that Ulrich would appear in the eagerly-anticipated sequel in one way or another.

Terrifying New Animatronics Take Over in First ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer
Image
The trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has just been released, and it looks like fans are in for an even scarier ride this time around. In the first full look at the movie, the killer animatronics are back, and they’re not staying inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza anymore.

The new footage opens with McKenna Grace and a group of people exploring the remains of an old Freddy’s restaurant. As you’d expect, things go bad quickly. The animatronics start moving, stalking, and attacking again, and this time, the danger feels bigger. A lot bigger.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer Unleashes New Animatronics on Terrified Victims
Image
The first full trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is finally here, and it’s just as creepy as fans hoped. The sequel brings back more killer animatronics, more danger, and way more chaos. This time, the monsters aren’t just inside one haunted pizzeria.

The trailer starts with a group of people exploring an old Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza building. McKenna Grace leads the group, and it doesn’t take long before things start to go wrong. These animatronics aren’t playing games, they’re on the hunt again. From the looks of it, no one is safe.

We also catch up with familiar faces like Abby, Mike, and Vanessa. Freddy himself even shows up to ask Abby for help, and just like that, they’re pulled back into the nightmare. Now it seems the killer animatronics are loose in the outside world, not just inside the restaurant.

Despite having grown up quite a bit since the last time we saw her, Abby is still missing her “friends”, aka the ghostly-possessed animatronics from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. In fact, she’s missing them so much that she sets out on a quest to help them put the pieces back together, a...

Jon Watts would like to work on another Final Destination movie
Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Seann William Scott, Kerr Smith, Amanda Detmer, and Chad Donella in Destination finale (2000)
After a 14 year hiatus, the Final Destination franchise returned this year with Final Destination: Bloodlines – and movie-goers were clearly missing these movies, as Bloodlines has quickly become the highest-grossing entry in the franchise. The previous record holder, 2009’s The Final Destination, reached $187 million, but the new sequel has left that record in the dust, pulling in over $283 million. Franchise producer Craig Perry produced the new movie alongside Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts – and now, Watts has confirmed that he would be glad to work on another film in the Final Destination series.

Watts got his feature directorial debut with the Eli Roth-produced horror movie Clown, so it wasn’t shocking when he decided to circle back to the horror genre to produce and write the initial treatment for Final Destination: Bloodlines. Speaking with Collider, he revealed exactly how that situation...

Why Kimberly Corman Cameo Was Cut From Final Destination Bloodlines
Image
Final Destination Bloodlines co-director Zach Lipovsky has finally revealed the reason why they decided to scrap their initial plans to include Kimberly Corman in the latest installment of the hit supernatural horror franchise. Kimberly Corman was the main protagonist of 2003’s Final Destination 2, which featured one of the franchise’s most iconic death sequences, whose character was later portrayed by A.J. Cook.

During a recent interview with ScreenRant, Lipovsky confirmed that their first draft of the screenplay included a Corman cameo, which would have taken place in the same scene as William Bludworth’s appearance. However, they eventually removed Kimberly from the scene in order to give highlight to Tony Todd’s character. “It could definitely work in the future. It was actually something that we essentially killed. The first draft that we read—you guys are good at that,” Lipovsky said. “Yeah, the first draft that we read had them finding.

"A Lot of Fans Wrote Back": Scream King Matthew Lillard Reveals Fans' Impact on 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' [Exclusive]
Image
In 2023, Blumhouse gleefully jumped on the string of video game to film adaptations, bringing Scott Cawthon’s beloved horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s to a chilling feature-length life. The movie proved to be an incredible success at the box office, earning well over $297 million globally before its run came to an end — and that’s on top of the fact that the title dropped the same day on Peacock. As is the case with most works that celebrate that kind of achievement, fans were quickly asking when they could expect a sequel. Although it may have taken longer than the following would have liked, a follow-up was officially announced in April of last year. Now that we’re only six months away from the film’s debut, many are wondering what they can expect when Freddy Fazbear returns for his next murderous spree.
