Inspired by Varun Agarwal’s novel, Abhishek Sinha’s latest movie, Tumse Na Ho Payega, promised to be a deep dive into the story of how a middle-class boy risked it all to make a company whose success would inspire thousands of other entrepreneurs. The film doesn’t quite do justice to that particular idea, but it has its own humorous approach to the whole thing. The main idea seemed to be that of defining success in an age where society pressures everyone to conform and sacrifice one’s individuality. The film features the friendship and banter that become part and parcel of the journey towards success. The story revolves around Gaurav Shukla, who leaves his job and starts a tiffin service only to find that he has little to no support from his family, while Anu Aunty, his neighbor, makes his mother insecure regarding his future.

Gaurav Shukla, the creator and showrunner of the recently released second season of the streaming show ‘Asur’, has shared that the team didn’t establish a traditional writers’ room for the second season until the overarching story was locked.

The second season of the show was released after a gap of three years because of the pandemic. Directed by Oni Sen, ‘Asur 2’ stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Amey Wagh, Meiyang Chang, and Gaurav Arora.

Talking about the challenges, Gaurav told Ians: “The pressure we encountered was both internal and external. It came from the platform, the actors, and even from within ourselves. We were determined to surpass the achievements of season 1, and it took some time for us to develop the central plot. Additionally, writing during the lockdown presented its own set of challenges, as our writer’s room was primarily utilised for troubleshooting rather than full-fledged brainstorming sessions.

Actor Barun Sobti, who is gearing up for the second season of his hit streaming show ‘Asur’, has said that the upcoming season will delve into national propaganda. Following the events of season 1, the hunt for Asur takes a toll on everyone involved.

Season 2 will see the Cbi racing against time to gather evidence and track down a serial killer. Set against the mystical backdrop of Varanasi, the narrative subtly integrates mythological elements.

Barun, who plays the lead role of Nikhik Nair said: “We have raised the bar with ‘Asur 2’. After setting a benchmark with the first season, we have surpassed it, raising the stakes even higher this time. In Season 1, it was about the families of the characters involved, but Season 2 delves into national propaganda.”
