Watch: Astonishing CG Animated Sci-Fi Short Film 'The Cloud Racer'

"You flew fast. Mom would be proud." You have to watch this awesome short film titled The Cloud Racer - from director Joe Sill and his production studio Impossible Objects. This CG animated sci-fi short is a proof of concept and it's an exhilarating experience introducing us to the "next great race." Made entirely on the Unreal engine, it's an example of how far you can push visuals with any idea. A struggling outerling pilots his race-craft over the apocalyptic streets of future Los Angeles in a fierce aerial competition against the much better funded corporate teams, his trusted father (who also serves as his mechanic) by his side. Set in a desolate, demolished LA in 2055, the city is now known as "Ghost City". It's pretty much The Phantom Menace podracing scene but it also reminds of the Wachowskis' Speed Racer as well (which I still think is underrated). With performances by Heston Horwin,...

Michael Seater, Emily Meade and Bo Burnham Join Sin Bin
Emily Meade among cast for indie comedyMichael Seater, Emily Meade and Bo Burnham have signed on to star in Sin Bin, a coming-of-age comedy that also stars Ben McKenzie, Jeff Garlin and Tim Blake Nelson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Billy Federighi is directing the indie, based on a script by Christopher Storer.

Sin Bin centers on a put-upon high school student (Seater) who loans out his van (nicknamed "The Sin Bin") to his friends for their sexual exploits. Complicating matters, he is caught in a love triangle between a cute girl at school (Meade) and the villainous student liaison (Burnham). Gillian Jacobs also is in cast.

Nelson plays a police officer who lives next door to the student.

Production is currently underway in Chicago.

Sin Bin comes to theaters in 2010 and stars Gillian Jacobs, Michael Seater, Stephanie Kerbis, Bo Burnham, Emily Meade, Brian Petsos, Don Kress, Brenda Marie King.
