Nayeli Dulcinea Escamilla is a Houston based, Mexican-American Actress, Singer, Voice-Over Talent, Writer, and Television and Radio Host. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish, as well as bi-cultural, with a strong familiarity with her heritage. While active in theater, she began auditioning for on-camera work at the age of 15. It was then that she received her first lead in the independent film, "Desde el Norte". After taking a break from acting, in 2007 she became "El Rostro de Telefutura", working as an On-Air Talent and Spokesperson for the local Spanish television stations, Univision 45 and Telefutura 67. A year later, she also began working as an on-air talent for the radio station, "Tu Musica 104.9", where she co-hosted the morning show, "El Despertador". While working as an on-air personality, for both radio and TV, at Univision, she had the opportunity to appear in, and lend her voice, for many regional and local TV spots, as well as radio commercials. As an actress, she knows very well how to work with her voice, and understands the magic that takes place both, behind the microphone, as well as in front of the camera. Her musical and writing abilities gave her the opportunity to compose several jingles for the TV station, and in 2012, earned her a Lone Star Emmy in the category of "Musical Arrangement", for writing the lyrics and melody to, as well as singing, the theme song for the morning show, "Vive la Manana". The song aired in the Houston, Austin, Dallas and San-Antonio markets for 5 years. In theater, she has performed in both, English and Spanish, in venues such as Talento Bilingue de Houston, Miller Outdoor Theater, and Rice University, and in the cities of Austin, Mexico City and Paris. Her on-camera work includes credits in independent films, TV, commercials and industrials. Her most recent television participation is in the "Fifth Ward" series, in which she plays the character of "Letty". Her latest national, voice- over work is with Hallmark. Nayeli has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications- Broadcast Journalism, with a Minor in Spanish, from the University of Houston, and is represented by Pastorini-Bosby Talent Agency.
