Jay Thakkar is an Indian Film and Television actor. He was a bright student and is a gifted artist from a young age. He completed his education by earning a graduation degree in Mass Media Marketing and Advertising as well as a Masters in Mass Communication from Mumbai University.
He made his acting debut in 2004. Since then, Jay has shot for over 400+ Ad Films, 50+ TV Shows, 10+ Web Series, 15+ Feature Films, and much more.
He is predominantly known for his spin-thrilling performances in Jio Cinema's "UP65" as Mohit Mahraj Bro and Bunty Miyaan in Sony TV's Ek Dujey Ke Vaaste-2. The versatile artist played the role of Cheeku in Guturgu; India's first silent comedy show on Sony Sab TV.
Besides this, Jay portrayed the role of Shethji in Laagi Tujhse Lagan on Colors. This was followed by a series of projects, which include Ghar Ki Baat Hai and Ishaan by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment on NDTV Imagine & Disney Channel.
He has also appeared in Hollywood Russian Movie 'Rodina' playing one of the primary characters of Ramish. Currently, he is shooting for Maddock Film's Upcoming Theatrical Feature Film 'Bhul Chuk Maaf' with Rajkumar Rao, playing one of the most interesting characters in the film.
Another upcoming project of Jay Thakkar is Horror Comedy Feature Film called Kapkappi, wherein he will feature alongside Shreyas Talpade & Tushar Kapoor. He's also set to feature in TVF & Sony Liv's Original Web Series called 'Gullak Season 4'. Additionally, he has shot for Adrishyam as well, portraying the character of a psychopathic Terrorist Villain.
The maverick individual has appeared in various mythological shows and played highly aesthetic roles. He has worked in several other projects including, The Adventures Of Hatim, Mauka-E-Vardaat, Suryaputra Karna, to name a few. These characters required highly aesthetic makeup that took nearly 4 hours.
Jay Thakkar is an avid animal lover, social worker, family man and a constant learner. He also loves to learn various fitness art forms like Taekwondo, Karate, Calisthenics and CrossFit. He also has a special interest in cinematography, editing, post production, dubbing, production design and art direction.
Till date, Jay Thakkar has impressed the audiences with his artistic brilliance, receiving great recognition and accolades for his work. He aims to continue the good work and touch hearts with impactful performances.
