Biography

    • Mo Kaufman was born in New York City and grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She studied acting with the late Red West and moved to Los Angeles. At a Los Angeles Filmforum screening, she met filmmaker Mike Kuchar and shortly after, acted in her first film with the legendary director. She performed in the film Midnight Suite, which was later screened at a Los Angeles Filmforum Kuchar brothers event, and also the film Fallen Angels, which debuted at The Tate Modern in London during a retrospective of both Mike Kuchar and his brother George Kuchar's work. Her experience working with the legend Ulli Lommel solidified her love for acting, film, and art.

  • Her great-grandmother, poet and artist Marguerite Lanier Kaufman was a founding member of The Poet's Roundtable of Arkansas, and was also the grand-niece of American poet and musician, Sidney Lanier.

    In July, 2011, during Carmageddon Los Angeles, a photo of her car-free activism at Interstate 405 made the cover of the Sunday edition of the Los Angeles Times.
