'Patiala House' actor Armaan Kirmani: 'Soulmates is East-meets-West'
Armaan Kirmani has said that his latest film will appeal to Bollywood and mainstream cinemagoers. The Hindi-English film is the actor's first release since starring alongside Akshay Kumar and Rishi Kapoor in Nikhil Advani's Patiala House. Kirmani told Digital Spy: "I feel the unique aspect about Soulmates is that the film has been made in a very Western production style and yet it has retained its Eastern soul." The London Indian Film Festival opened on the evening of Thursday 30th June with the premiere of Delhi Belly. The blurb on the Festival’s website stated that special guests were expected and, all in all, the attendees would have been right to expect a grand first night. Former England cricket captains join Akshay Kumar in Patiala House
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is spearheading the cast of family drama Patiala House, which depicts the cross-generational conflicts that arise from migration.

Produced by Hari Om Entertainment Company, People Tree Films and T-Series, Patiala House is described as "an affecting tale of family ties and duty, a yearning to follow one's dreams, and trying to make sense of the dichotomies that life presents when one's family has migrated to another land."

Akshay Kumar juggles the contradictory role of a shopkeeper from Southall, London, respecting his traditionalist father - played by Indian cinema veteran Rishi Kapoor - while pursuing his dream to play cricket for England.
