Tomasz is a Polish screenwriter and director. During his career so far, as a director and screenwriter, he has won 24 individual awards and his films have won 23 awards worldwide. He was named by Variety Magazine as "Top Ten Europeans to Watch". He is a member of European Film Academy. He graduated from the renowned Academy of Film and Television and The National Film School in Lodz.
His full-length feature debut "In a Bedroom" (W sypialni) had it's world premiere at the 2012 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. "In a Bedroom" received several prizes including Ecumenical Jury Award at the 2012 Mannheim-Heildelberg International Film Festival.
His second feature film "Floating Skyscrapers" (Plynace Wiezowce) had it's world premiere at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City where American film critics chose "Floating Skyscrapers" as the best movie presented at Tribeca. The film went on to win East of the West Competition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2013, the Best Directing Award at Transilvania International Film Festival 2014, the Audience Award at the International Competition New Horizons in Wroclaw, the Best New Directing Talent and the Grand Prix of Youth Jury at Gdynia Film Festival in Poland.
His third movie "United States of Love" (Zjednoczone Stany Milosci) premiered worldwide at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival 2016 in competition where it won the prestigious Silver Bear for Best Script. Tomasz was nominated for Best European Scriptwriter at 29th European Film Awards. For Best Director he received awards at Valleta Film Festival and Gdynia Film Festival.
His fourth feature film "Fools" premiered in competition for the Proxima Award at the 2022 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Tomasz' films have premiered and been distributed in cinemas worldwide and have screened at over 300 film festivals. His fifth feature film is in development for production. This marks his English-language debut and first American production.
