Paul was born in Spain to his English mother and Norwegian father. At the age of seven, he and his family moved to the United Arab Emirates. before moving to the UK in 2004 to train as an actor at the "Central School of Speech and Drama" in London.
Soon after, he felt called toward filmmaking and writing and so stepped into directing, producing and writing as he set up his own production company called roarlight.
